dir/width=filename=xx, vms7.3-1 vs. 7.3
This is a minor annoyance but did mess up one of my procedures for =
displaying sorted directories. In switching to a new system, we are =
leaving DEC 7610/VMS 7.3 for HP DS10/VMS 7.3-1. The =
dir/width=3Dfilename=3Dxx on the new system results in a display with =
one extra character in the filename field compared to the old system. =
The error appears to be in 7.3(and earlier?). The online help defines =
default as /width=3Dfilename=3D19 in 7.3 and 7.3-1. In 7.3-1, dir/size =
and dir/size/width=3Dfilename=3D19 produce identical results. However, =
in 7.3, dir/size=3Dwidth=3D19 produces a display one character shorter =
than dir/size. I could not find any documented bugs and wonder if other =
people experience the same results. Thanks, Pat G.
