frequently asked questions is now a FAQ itself

I just went looking for the SPDs, in particular older ones.

Hoff's old FAQ is getting a bit long in the tooth (2006), but it
contains links to still get forwarded to the SPDs. And then I
couldn't find anything older than 7.1.

HP's FAQ is empty of usefull information. SPD? What SPD?

openvms.org has a page full of links, but it was not trivial to
find a link to the SPDs. I eventually found a link to a VMS history
that happened to include the info I was looking for.

Does anyone maintain a FAQ as usefull as the one Hoff used to do?
If not, can we put together some volunteers to update it?

Not a FAQ, but specifically links to some more recent SPDs at

Bob,

Hoff also maintains a more recent OpenVMS FAQ on his web site:

http://labs.hoffmanlabs.com/node/1

If you E-mailed Hoff, with the up to date links, he might update that page.

SPDs now seem to be located at http://h71000.www7.hp.com/doc/spd.html

If you go to the main OpenVMS webpage at http://hp.com/go/vms/ you'll
find the above link at the bottom-right hyperlinked under the text
"Software Product Descriptions (SPDs)".

That page was posted December, 2006 and links to the September,
2006 FAQ (at least the text version I pull so I can read it).
That's the one I already had with the out of date links that
   fortunetly still get forwarded.
