Telnet gives me a blank screen and SSH is refused. Is anyone else
having this problem?
Thanks!

The telnet & ssh time out here. A simple ping is working, though.

I get connection, but no username prompt.
I suspect a runaway process who ate all of the page file. I'd bet IMAP.

I concur. I can traceroute to Eisner. No ssh connectivity.

Thanks, guys, for the confirmation. Yes -- I forgot to mention -- I
can ping it, too.

There's still a problem with Eisner -- email can not be sent to it.
Telnetting to port 25 results in:
telnet eisner.decus.org 25
Trying 67.53.90.116...
Connected to eisner.decus.org.
Escape character is '^]'.
Connection closed by foreign host.
Therefore, it's not receiving posts from the info-vax mailinglist.

2 problems in one day. Undeniable proof that the letting go of the VMS
engineers has already resulted in VMS having more faults, lower
downtimes, and requiring more frequent reboots. And it's only been 2
weeks. Imagine what it will be like a year from now ...

ALl of the PMDF queues are currently stopped. I would start
them but I've not received any info as to whether or not it's
due to a problem or just an oversight.

Are you subscribed to the EISNER mailing list?
See note 824.33 in conference DECUSERVE_FORUM.
I got the first message about the problem a couple of hours before your
post.
