Good news, bad news.

The good news: the pinout is here:

  http://www.lammertbies.nl/comm/cable/dec-mmj.html#h75e

The bad news: you can't buy MMJ sockets anywhere anymore.

However, the page says that it's almost the same as H8575-A, which
has various vendors as low as $15. Good luck!

For as long as it remains available, there are numerous adapter pinouts and
cable pinouts (and the associated part numbers) and such at the old Ask The
Wizard site. <http://www.hp.com/go/openvms/wizard/> Look for DECconnect
Passive Adapters (and the Cables Guide) in the left navigation on that page.
Various DECconnect materials are archived there. The H8575-E is among those
adapters with its pinouts displayed there, and there are a gazillion cables.

The MMJ was a Bell Labs design (there are three keys for the modular jack
series, with the middle keyed variant being far and away the most familiar), and
you can buy the jacks and the crimping tools. Black Box offers a kit for
building your own, and various related tools and parts.

As for this particular DECconnect adapter, the H8575-E is the adapter I was
using to connect a VT-series terminal into the serial DB25M on the Integrity
rx2600 series management port.

Not even in the UK? They where `standard' BT phone conections
at one time.

They must be around somewhere. Telstra (Australian Telecom) use
them on the power supplies for a large number of their fixed
line phones.

You probably have to be a big user and order directly from a
manufacturer. The companies selling new cables certainly must be
getting them from somewhere. You just can't get "small" quantities
like 100's from anyone.
