TeX / LaTeX for Open VMS

  • Follow

Hi All,

I was wondering what is the latest available version for Open VMS.

The latest I can see is 1997.

I am after a later version that include postscript for such as MathTime.

Thanks

Stuart

(La)TeX is one of the most portable programs there is---compile and go!

On the other hand, if you get a standard source distribution, chances
are that it will need to be tailored a bit---no changes in the sources,
but you have to think about where to put things, how to define commands
etc. Ralf Grtner contributed an "out-of-the-box" [TEXMF] to the
freeware CD a while back, but that's been several years. I'm not sure
if anyone has done anything similar since then.

Many developers, especially Lamport himself and the large community in
Germany, use(d) VMS, so it's a shame that LaTeX seems to be dying out in
the VMS world. This goes hand-in-hand with the death of VMS in
academia.

What specifically are you after? MathTime fonts?
