I just had occasion in another context to glance at the infamous rolling
(and presumably therefore up-to-date) VMS roadmap.  And the road *still*
seems pretty much to end next year.

The only obvious declarations of features appearing after 2004 involved
minor enhancements to TPC/IP, RTR, and ACMS.  A few notes about (explicitly
*un*committed) 'investigations' of possible future work (in 2005 on the
slides, but if the *investigations* are only just starting one might
question that resulting products would actually ship that soon) had appeared
since the last time I looked, but even they weren't particularly inspiring
(and, of course, conspicuously omitted any mention of that new file
system...).
