(Please accept our apologies for multiple postings of this announcement)

Call for Paper

IEEE International Workshop on Parallel Computations for Neural Networks (P=
CNN)

in conjunction with the International Conference on High Performance Comput=
ing & Simulation (HPCS 2014)

Bologna, Italy, July 21-25, 2014

http://hpcs2014.cisedu.info/2-conference/workshops/workshop-25-pcnn

The goal of the workshop is to provide an international forum for reporting=
progress and recent advances in parallel computing techniques, hardware an=
d software tools for speeding-up functioning and training of traditional an=
d bio-inspired neural network models on the modern high-performance computi=
ng systems.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

* Specialized computing hardware, transputers and FPGA-implementati=
ons for neural networks

* Parallel training algorithms for feed-forward, recurrent, RBF, re=
circulation and other neural networks

* Parallel supervised and unsupervised training and reinforcement l=
earning algorithms

* Parallelization of neural network algorithms on many-core systems=
, clusters, grids and clouds

* GPU-based implementations of neural networks

* Coarse-grain parallelization of neural networks

* Parallel training algorithms for deep-belief networks

* Parallelization of cognitive neural models

* Parallel implementations and training algorithms for spiking neur=
al networks

* Grid-based frameworks for neural networks execution and paralleli=
zation

* Modeling of large-scale neural models using parallel computing te=
chniques

* Neural simulators in neuroscience using parallel computing

* Computational neuroscience using parallel architectures

* Neural network simulation tools and libraries using parallel comp=
uting

*         High-performance machine intelligence

Proceeding:

The accepted papers will be published in the IEEE Computer Society Press pr=
oceedings together with the proceedings of HPCS 2014.

Instruction for Paper Submissions:

Submitted papers must not have been published or simultaneously submitted e=
lsewhere. Submission should include a cover page with authors' names, affi=
liation addresses, fax numbers, phone numbers, and email addresses. Please=
, indicate clearly the corresponding author and include up to 6 keywords fr=
om the above list of topics and an abstract of no more than 400 words. The=
full manuscript should be at most 8 pages using the two-column IEEE format=
.. Additional pages will be charged additional fee. Short papers (up to 4 =
pages), poster papers and posters (please refer to http://hpcs2014.cisedu.i=
nfo/home/posters for the posters submission details) will also be accepted =
for submission. In case of multiple authors, an indication of which author=
(s) is responsible for correspondence must be indicated.
