Pegasus Mail or Pegasus Mail as 'Admin'

Hello,

Can someone tell me whether I should run Pegasus Mail ver 4.21c as
1. Pegasus Mail
or
2. Pegasus Mail as 'Admin'

What is the difference?

Thank you for your time.

Pegasus Mail not appearing 'on-top'
On my system, when I double-click the system tray icon to bring up the main window, it's not appearing on-top, but if I click on any portion of the exposed PM window it does bring it to top. PGP Extension for Pegasus Mail 6.2.7.0 [required for Pegasus Mail 4.5] released
Version 6.2.7.0 / 6-2009 (13.06.2009): ATTENTION: This update is required for the extension to work properly = with Pegasus Mail v4.5! The most important change is a new send option ("all in one message") = which may be selected via the entries beginning with "***" in the encryption dialog. Some minor adjustments to PGP 9.7 - 9.10, a new option for displaying the local time on Pegasus Mail's status bar and a way for synchronizing the system time with a timeserver are included as well. Additionally the following bugs have been fixed amongst others: - E...

Pegasus Mail freezes when sending mail
Hello, We have Pegasus Mail version 4.41 set up on a Windows Network. The programs are run in workstation mode so that they are running the executables off the network. We are using a roaming profile. We have one particular computer that intermittently freezes up when sending mail. This workstation is a Windows XP Professional SP2 machine. The program becomes unresponsive (eternal hourglass), and even manually ending the program from task manager won't work. The person using this workstation tells me it seems to happen more when replying to messsages from a user than when ...

Pegasus mail on windows 2000 doesn't start properly after reinstall
Hi there, I run windows 2000. Pegasus Mail was having weird problems with the signatures (They would appear empty in the edit window, and new signatures wouldn't show up under the messages) since an earlyer upgrade. So, I tried reinstalling Pegasus from a fresh download. Since then the program doesn't start up properly. It asks for a username and then starts to load, but after it starts opening the new mail folder it seems to hang. I tried giving it some time but after a few hours it's still not loading. Another thing I did prioor to reinstalling was enabling the spa...

$$$-files in Pegasus' mail directory
Hey, when searching for free space on my ahrddrive i found some very big files in my "MAIL"-folder. They all have the extension .$$$ and a date of 10 month ago. What files are these? Can they be deleted to free some space or are they needed? Archiving mail messages outside Pegasus Mail?
I have a message folder in Pmail 4.31 with around 500 mail messages including file attachmentsrelated to a work project that has finished some weeks ago. What would be the best way to archive the messages in the folder? Schould I leave the folder in the folder tree and hope that the Pmail message hierarchy system will not be corrupted, or is there a way to put all the messages, with attachments included, out from Pmail and store them to a CD-ROM, and they can then be restored, if needed, for some reason later? I don't need the folder in the folder tree any longer, but I have to sav...

how to make it so that 'delete' copies mail to mail-trash?
Hi, I've looked around in the pine FAQ and my .pinerc but could not find the answer to the following: When I delete a message, it is not copied to the mail-trash file/folder, but instead is apparently sent to /dev/null or whatever...the result is the same : message is irrecuperable. 1.So what setting needs to be changed to make it so that 'delete' moves mail to mail-trash? 2.Is there a way to make the trash automatically clean out old deleted messages that are say more than 30 days old? thanks and please don't hesitate to point me in the right direction if these exact que...

why: 'You have new mail in /var/spool/mail/root' ?
This annoying message seems to be associated with the times when <cr> won't run mc-selected executables. The error mesg. is in that case something about 'shell is already running'. Examining the file shows the mail as being from 'Mail Delivery subsystem - daemon'. Some looks like being potentially usefull for debugging purtposes. I've got [only dial up] on this FC1 box; so where's the mail being sent from ? Can/should I disable this stuff ? Does the file 'roll-over' or fill up to infinity ? Thanks for any info, == Chris Glur. It's mail from y...

pegasus mail won't close
The past few days I have been encountering a problem when I try to close PM. It hangs. I have to use task manager to close it after getting the message about the program not responding. I ran ad-aware right before this started and took off a bunch of adware files. I've never had a problem with PM before and I've been using it for years. I ran a system restore and that didn't help. I wonder if I deleted some file needed to close it. Any help would be appreciated! Lesa wrote: > The past few days I have been encountering a problem when I try > to close PM. It hangs. ...

Can't open Pegasus Mail
Disaster! I can't even open PMail! According to the prompt, that's due to the uninstalling of the driver of an old printer I didn't use anymore. The messages, as the matter of facts, are: "Error initialing the printer" and "Error creating fonts". How can I fix that? Provided that I find the CD driver (hard!) everything will be ok? Other ways? Thanks in advance. Roberto "Roberto" <roberto.1.schenone@gmail.com> wrote: > Disaster! I can't even open PMail! According to the prompt, > that's due to the uninstalling of the d...

Pegasus won't send mail
I transferred Pegasus Version 4.21c from a computer running Windows 98 first edition to one running Windows 98 second edition by copying all Pegasus related folders and maintaining the existing directory structure. It works fine except that when I try sending emails I get a message saying that there is a network or protocol error and the trace is "5: Connect failed, 274D." I sent a message similar to this to this news group last week but it seems to have disappeared while I was away for a few days. Don It happens that Don Johnston formulated : > I transferred Pe...
