Sent mail no longer stored in copy to self folder.

All of a sudden sent mail isn't stored in the defined copy to self folder.
I indicated another folder and have the same issue.
As I did sent such test to my self, I am sure the mail was really sent.
I use 4.31 and I am in multi-user mode.
All other users work still ok.

I checked the consistency of that folder (was ok) and did a re-indexing as
well.
Still no cure.

Any ideas?

Don't think I am nuts as I am talking to myself. grin
I rechecked the copy to self definition for the xth time and still found no
error.
Then I saw two options I never used before in interactive copy to self options.
I decided to try those and from this moment on, I get the sent message in the
copy to self folder again.
Those two options are unchecked as before and a sent message goes in the
defined copy to selg folder as before.
But in the meantime I have lost copy of the messages sent arghh

My worrie is now however and I hope some specialist can respond:
- how could this happen
- will it happen again in the future
- if it happens again, what can I do to gether information for an indepth
analysis of the problem.

The copy-to-self folder setting is maintained separately for each
identity in Pegasus Mail, thus, Identity A may have its copy-to-self
folder set to folder "foo" and Identity B may have its copy-to-self
folder set to folder "bar". If you write a message using Identity A,
the copy-to-self will be sent to folder "foo", but if you write a
message using Identity B, the copy-to-self will be sent to folder
"bar".

The options dialog shows (and allows you to change) the copy-to-self
folder for the currently-selected identity. If you write a message
using a different identity, then it will use that folder's copy-to-self
setting.

You should also be careful of / attempt to avoid using same-named
folders in two different folder subtrees for your copy-to-self folders.

Cheers

Thank you for your reply, but I am in multi-user mode and each user has one
identity.
Each user has a copy to self defined.
For simplicity each user has the same name for the copy to self folder, but as
they are not in the same data directory structure, that's not a problem.

The real problem is (or was see <mn.1aa37d6408ed2895.6359@not.yahoo.this.com> )
that all of a sudden the sent mail wasn't stored in the copy to self folder,
but only for one user.
Even creating another folder as a copy to self folder and changing the options
didn't cure the problem. It's solved now, but it worries me that such a thing
can happen.

Mails sent mail to internal people are sent to their Internet mail address
Hi. When people in our company send mail messages to others in our company's directory Lotus Notes sends directly to the Internet. Since our Domino server is not yet configured as an SMTP relay, our fellows use Notes 6 client to read their Notes mailbox and send mails directly to the Internet. They all have a pop3 account by our ISP that they must read from their Notes client. Our Domino R6 server is installed on a Linux machine on which I have no control. Notes R6 clients use replication to read their mail from their ISP pop3 account. I'd like Lotus Notes R6 clients to...

Mail doesn't store sent mail
Hey, I'm using an IMAP account to read mails with Mail. I've selected "store sent messages on the server" in the preferences. Using Pegasus Mail from multiple computers; archiving mail folders
I currently use Pegasus Mail for Windows (XP Professional) from my laptop. I put the mail in a root directory c:\Mail. I am thinking of adding a desktop computer and using my existing laptop much less frequently; I would copy over c:\Mail to a drive on the desktop that could be shared, say d:\Mail, and have a few questions: * I know I'd have to edit pmail.ini to point to d:\Mail . * When I am local and able to access d:\Mail, there should be no problem as long as I have only one client open at a time, I believe. But say that I am remote, perhaps on a trip, and want to use Pegas...

{English} Hello, we have an exchange server here and I am pulling out the messages from the outlook folder to my database. That works fine. But there are some strange things happening. After a couple of times of testing the connection and opening the Store and the Folder, getting the messages, closing the Folder and closing the Store, my windows / outlook user gets locked. New mail folder / Main mail folder annoyances
I use Pegasus mail 4.21c. Since Pegasus has a seperate "New Mail" folder, I end up having to search some mail in the "New Mail" folder and some mail in the "Main" folder. Not all of the "New Mail" mail can make it to the Main folder. Is there any way of JUST having a Main folder? I just want the newer mail on top of the older one... not two folders. Also, the New Mail folder takes a long time to load, while the Main folder (with much more mail) loads very quickly... So I want to avoid the New Mail folder altogether. Is this corrected in 4....

Copy/Paste mail from one mail.box to a new mail.box
Occassionally, we have to allow the server to create new mail boxes on server restart. When we realize we have an issue, we stop Domino, rename the current mail boxes and then new ones get created by the server. We are wondering if there is a tool that would automatically copy and paste the emails in the orginal mail boxes to the new mail boxes. TIA, It must be a dedicated tool, since copying documents to the mail.box is not allowed: It was a potential leak in security. I believe that since version 5 it is changed and copying docs to the mail.box is disabled. greetzz, Dick &...

mail not sent to some in mailing lists

failure in msmtp still stores mails in Sent folder
Hi, I'm using the msmtp program (set sendmail="/usr/bin/msmtp") to send mails from mutt. However, when sending mails fails for some reason (in my case because I'm tunneling via ssh to an outside smtp server, and the tunnel sometimes is broken), the mail is still stored in the Sent folder (set as FCC in mutt). This results in multiple copies ending up in the Sent folder at the end, when I make several attempts to send the email. Is there a way to specify that emails where msmtp fails (mutt seems to know about that, because I'm being displayed the error me...

E-Mails with Embedded Graphics in Copy to Self Folder
It is a really great improvement that formatted/RTF E-Mails now preserve their formatting when put in the Copy to Self folder. Unfortunately I found out that embedded images are not preserved. This is annoying when you try to forward an E-Mail directly out of the copy to self folder. Is this characteristic intentional in the new 4.31-Version or did I overlook something in the configuration of PMAIL? BTW if a mail is received with embedded images the new version 4.31 allows to directly forward it with all embedded images included. This is great. Rolf On 25 Dec 2005 04:35:43 -...
