HVD and PCI-X scsi controller?

  • Follow

Dear all,
I'm looking for a SCSI controller to use with my IBM Magstar library.
To control my Magstar library you've to use HVD (high voltage differential)
SCSI controller, and not more usual LVD.
A good one is the Adaptec AHA-2944UW (HVD), but it has a normal PCI (33mhz)
connector.
In our server only 1 PCI-X (66Mhz, hot-swappable) slot is available.
Could you help me??

Thanks a lot
regards
Matteo

You mean the 5V PCI card won't fit in the 3.3V PCI-X slot, right?

Put an SE-HVD converter on a U160+ adapter: http://www.paralan.com/sd10.html

Probably. From the PCI_SIG_FAQ:

"All high-speed PCI add-in card slots, including PCI-X
and 66 MHz conventional PCI, are keyed for 3.3V I/O."

Or have a look at the Lsi Logic SYM20102 convertor.
Or the SYM22802 dual channel Ultra HVD SCSI controller.
