Recommendations: SCSI hdd & tape

  • Follow

Hello.

I recently equipped my Sun Ultra 5 with a Symbios Logic SCSI controller
(Sun X6540A - Symbios SYM22801, dual Ultra Wide SCSI) in order to bypass
the crappy IDE components one is stuck with by default.

I already have a nice Plextor cd-rw installed and am now looking for 1-2
hdds to accompany it. I'm looking for something reasonably fast and
quiet. Cheap (high availability on eBay etc.) would be nice, too :) Any
recommendations?

On a side note I'm looking for a nice streamer/tape-drive. What is state
of the art for soho-environments? What is reasonable for ~20-30gb of data?

Thanks for your input/opinions!

Sorry for messing up the from-header...

Hopefully fixed now :)

I have several DLT 20/40, 15/30, SLR and HP 4mm changer that I am very
pleased with.
