Enhanced MR Image Storage/1.2.840.10008.5.1.4.1.1.4.1 : 2005,7e,Philips MR Imaging DD 001

Hi there,

Could someone from Philips confirms that (2005,7e,Philips MR Imaging
DD 001) is actually storing some kind of Z-spacing when the multiframe
image in an Enhanced MR Image Storage is homogenous ?

Thanks

Encapsulated PDF Storage 1.2.840.10008.5.1.4.1.1.104.1
Hi all! In a conformance statement of an application I'm able to find SOP Class Encapsulated PDF Storage 1.2.840.10008.5.1.4.1.1.104.1. The conformance statement tells me that it is being supported as an SCU as well as a SCP. Can I expect that the application can create Enc. PDF documents of its own assesments? My supplier tells me that this application can only store received enc. PDF documents with this SOP Class. I thought that this SOP class also was for creation of the Enc. PDF document. Or do I need another SOP Class for this functionallity (Creation of Enc. ACE 5.4.2 + TAO 1.4.2 client, ORBacus 4.1.2 NameService, and JACOrb 1.4.1 servants
Hi everyone, Background: ----------- I'm very new to CORBA, ACE & TAO. I'm trying to integrate with a 3rd party system which exposes a CORBA object model to clients. This system is composed of JACOrb 1.4.1 servers registering with an ORBacus 4.1.2 NameService. We've got existing software that uses ACE 5.4.2, and the 3rd party documentation mentions that people have used TAO (no version specified) previously to integrate with their system, so I'm trying out TAO 1.4.2 as a natural solution to the problem. 1 - 1, 1 -1, 1-1, 1
Hi, I have a question regarding lexical analysis. I recently came across a bug in our lexical analyser in phc (www.phpcompiler.org), that I am unsure how to solve. This is the problem: our current definition for integer constant looks something like INT ([1-9][0-9]*)|0 In particular, note that it does not allow for an (optional) "+" or "-" at the start of the integer. This means that the strings "1 - 1", "1 -1" and "1-1" all generate the same sequence of three tokens INT(1), OP(-), INT(1), for which the syntax analyser generates the subtree BIN_OP(-, 1, 1). For the string "1 - -1", the lexer (unsurprisingly) generates INT(1), OP(-), OP(-), INT(1). The syntax analyser recognises this as BIN_OP(1, UNARY_OP(-, 1)). In other words, the second "-" is treated as a unary operator, rather than as part of the number. This works fine, with the sole exception of the number "-2147483648". The problem is, of course, overflow: -2147483648 is a valid negative number (assuming 32-bit numbers), but the integer 2147483648 is _not_ a valid positive number. Thus, the above method of dealing with "-" as a unary operator breaks down. The solution is to interpret the "-" as part of the number, and generate INT(-2147483648), rather than OP(-), INT(...). However, changing the definition of INT to INT [+-]?([1-9][0-9]*)|0 causes "1-1" to be recognised as INT(1), INT(-1), which is...

Serialization between Java 1.1.4 and Java 1.4.1
Hello, It seems to me to be in some kinda trouble. I wanted to implement communication between Java applet and Server through sockets and Serialization. So, I serialize Object, send it to server which deserialize it with no problems. In other direction problems came out since Object serialized under Java 1.4.1 seems to be not deserializable under Java 1.1.4. (MS VM). If applet si run under J2, there are no problems, but I cannot push people to download some 15MB of new JRE just to accomplish my requirements, especially if applet needs not implementation of features of new JRE... ...

1.2.840.10008.1.2.4.91 / JPEG 2000 Image Compression questions
Hi there, If I understand correctly the DICOM standard (PS 3.5-2008), only transfer syntax 1.2.840.10008.1.2.4.91 is a dual lossy & lossless transfer syntax. All the other one pretty much guarantee whether or not the encapsulated stream has had a lossy or lossless transformation. Which leads to my second question. According to specs: .... The use of the DICOM Encapsulated Format to support JPEG 2000 Compressed Pixel Data requires that the Data Elements which are related to the Pixel Data encoding (e.g. Photometric Interpretation, Samples per Pixel, Planar Configuration, Bits Allocated, Bits Stored, High Bit, Pixel Representation, Rows, Columns, etc.) shall contain values which are consistent with the characteristics of the compressed data stream. The Pixel Data characteristics included in the JPEG 2000 bit stream shall be used to decode the compressed data stream. .... So what this means : 1. Since JP2 is explicitely prohibited, only J2K (=no color space information stored) is allowed, which means PhotometricInterpretation is likely to be correct. 2. If DICOM TransferSyntax is 1.2.840.10008.1.2.4.90 (lossless), but the J2K stream has a qmfb set to 1 (lossy). This is ok, and file should be supported (value taken from j2K). 3. If BitsPerSample is not consistent with what is found in the J2K stream, this is ok, and file should be supported (value taken from j2K). 4. If BitsAllocated/BitsStored is not consistent with what is found...

C.7.6.3.1.4 Pixel Data and C.7.6.2.1.1 Image Position And Image Orientation
Dear All, How should I reconcile the definitions of image coordinates in the "Pixel Data" and "Image Position and Image Orientation" sections of the 2009 DICOM standard? "Pixel Data" says that the pixels are labelled: (1,1) (1,2) (1,3) (1,4) etc. (2,1) (2,2) (2,3) (2,4) etc. etc. i.e. (row starting at 1, column starting at 1) But the formula on the "Image Position And Image Orientation" section it say is said to determine "The mapping of pixel location (i, j)" but WHERE i Column index to the image plane. The first column is index zero. and j Row index to the image plane. The first row index is zero. Should the image data be considered to be indexed from 0 or from 1? Should the pixel coordinates (i,j) be (row, col) or (col, row)? Many thanks, Dr Chris Rodgers University of Oxford. -- QUOTE from the standard -- ftp://medical.nema.org/medical/dicom/2009/09_03pu3.pdf C.7.6.3.1.4 Pixel Data Pixel Data (7FE0,0010) for this image.
