bind 9 cross compilation error

Hi all,

I am a newbie to bind9. I have started cross compiling bind9 for my target
arm-linux platform and I keep getting some errors while configuring bind9.

../configure --target=arm-linux --host=i686-pc-linux-gnu
--prefix=/home/cm-x270/cmrootfs/
BUILD_CC=/scratchbox/compilers/arm-gcc-3.3.4-glibc-2.3.2/bin/arm-linux-gcc

configure: WARNING: If you wanted to set the --build type, don't use --host.
If a cross compiler is detected then cross compile mode will be used.
.....
checking for random device... /dev/random
checking for /dev/random... configure: error: cannot check for file existence
when cross compiling
sara:/home/sara/bind-9.4.1#

I have my host development x86 machine running linux and /scratchbox tool for
cross compilation
(/scratchbox/compilers/arm-gcc-3.3.4-glibc-2.3.2/bin/arm-linux- ).

Can anyone precise me how can I cross compile bind9 for my arm platform using
scratchbox ?

Thanks
Sara

Binding or not binding
Hello, Could you please first excuse me if my past and maybe future posting in this group were (will be) sometimes awkward. But I will really like to be more active using and promoting Ada. I was really interested by the thread about "How come Ada isn't more popular?" I would like to have your opinion about the best way to go in the future, and in particular if binding a C library is really the way to go. When we talk about reuse does it mean reusing the libraries done in an other language ? Re-implementing zlib in Ada for example. Is it a waist of time ? How to choose...

Was BIND 9.4.3 announced on bind-announce / bind-users ?
I am somewhat embarrassed to find myself unaware that BIND 9.4.3 was (apparently) released on 19 November, superceding 9.4.3rc1 from 5 November. Unless I have done something very strange to my mail folders, I never received the usual notification from ISC. Was this just me, or was there a more general problem?
