All versions of BIND interoperate with all other versions of BIND.

	Major changes:

		check-names has been re-implemented.
		allow-recursion has a new default.
		allow-query-cache now exists.

Run your zones through named-checkzone or named-checkconf -z.
	Run you config through named-checkconf.
	Read README and CHANGES.

Bind 9.2.4 slaving problem [bind 9.2.1 and bind 8.3.3]
Greetings. I have a master name server running BIND 9.2.1 [Debian Woody - server not available on the Internet] and a slave server running bind 9.2.4 [Debian Sarge - not currently available on the Internet] and two others running bind 8.3.3 [Debian Woody - on the Internet]. The 9.2.1 is a master for all the others to slave from. I have an entry in a zone defined on the master as the following: > $ORIGIN example.com. > spamhaus-datafeed IN NS local-rbl-a > spamhaus-datafeed IN NS local-rbl-b When I issue the following command: #> host -t nx spam...

Hi Kovesdi, I'm using wxSafeYield(this, true); defined in a public method that I call checkPending that is part of the ProgramFrame : public wxFrame class. It appears to work correctly. However this may not help you as you're in a Linux OS. I had problems with it until I used the this and true parameters. RE: diff. between 9.3.2 and 9.2.6 #2
I have gotten BIND-9.3.2 running on an AIX 5.3 host in a chroot jail after a week or two of attempts. The biggest issue I ran into were permissions inside the jail and ensuring that there was a /tmp in the jail that the user named was running under could write to. Also make sure that you config files are in the correct place for BIND-9.3.2 and that the user named is running under can read them. If you compiled from source with no options, named will look for named.conf in /usr/local/etc/ so you either need a link to /etc/named.conf or move the config file to /usr/local/etc/. Of cours...

RE: diff. between 9.3.2 and 9.2.6 #3
Not sure what is being written to /jail/tmp but named would fail before I created it and gave the named user access to write to it. It is empty currently so I'm assuming named deletes whatever it creates soon after startup. I have directory "/var/named" specified in named.conf which is of course relative to the jailed directory. 9 (9.0.4) or 9.1 (9.2.2)?
I'm looking to upgrade from System 8.6 to 9 on my 7100/66, which has a Sonnet 266MHz upgrade card (and 104MB RAM). Some old posts I've seen say I can go up to 9.1 (which means 9.2.2 ultimately, unless there's a reason not to), but a couple other posts I've seen say 9.1 won't install on a 7100 (they don't mention upgrade cards though), so I'd have to stick with 9 (9.0.4). Can anyone tell me which is true (whether I should be looking for a 9 or 9.1 install CD on ebay, essentially)? Thank you. In article <oliverluNOSPAM-4219E8.11342630092003@news06.west.eart...
