Bind 9.2.4 slaving problem [bind 9.2.1 and bind 8.3.3]
Greetings. I have a master name server running BIND 9.2.1 [Debian Woody - server not available on the Internet] and a slave server running bind 9.2.4 [Debian Sarge - not currently available on the Internet] and two others running bind 8.3.3 [Debian Woody - on the Internet]. The 9.2.1 is a master for all the others to slave from. I have an entry in a zone defined on the master as the following: > $ORIGIN example.com. > spamhaus-datafeed IN NS local-rbl-a > spamhaus-datafeed IN NS local-rbl-b When I issue the following command: #> host -t nx spam...

9 (9.0.4) or 9.1 (9.2.2)?
I'm looking to upgrade from System 8.6 to 9 on my 7100/66, which has a Sonnet 266MHz upgrade card (and 104MB RAM). Some old posts I've seen say I can go up to 9.1 (which means 9.2.2 ultimately, unless there's a reason not to), but a couple other posts I've seen say 9.1 won't install on a 7100 (they don't mention upgrade cards though), so I'd have to stick with 9 (9.0.4). Can anyone tell me which is true (whether I should be looking for a 9 or 9.1 install CD on ebay, essentially)? Thank you. In article <oliverluNOSPAM-4219E8.11342630092003@news06.west.eart...

At one point I did have SAS working and could run programs, but the install process was very perplexing. Here are some observations. 9.2 ph...

Upgrading Bind 9.2.1 to 9.3.2
Like the subject says, I'm about to upgrade my slave name servers to Bind 9.3.2 while keeping the master 9.2.1 (for a few months). I have two test slave servers running in this configuration and all appears okay. Are there any known issues having the master and slaves at a different revision? Thanks for any assistance. -Mike ...

9.2.2 vs 9.5.1 #2
I'm using 3 dns servers with Bind bind-9.2.2.P3-9 Master A (domain1 + domain2) Slave B (domain1) Slave C (domain2) Now I'm migrating master A to Bind 9.5.1.dfsg.P3-1 together OS (Debian Lenny) so I'm interesting to know if there is some incompatible settings from/to slave servers. For example in slave B,C there is no setting about "auth-nxdomain directive" while in server A I found set "auth-nxdomain no"; I have to specify in server A these 2 options to permit only zones transfer to these only 2 servers ? allow-transfer { IpServerB } al...

optimizer_features_enable difference between 9.2.0.1/9..2.0.3/9.2.0.6?
Hi, All, I noticed for this parameter optimizer_features_enable , oracle document says: Syntax OPTIMIZER_FEATURES_ENABLE = {8.0.0 | 8.0.3 | 8.0.4 | 8.0.5 | 8.0.6 | 8.0.7 | 8.1.0 | 8.1.3 | 8.1.4 | 8.1.5 | 8.1.6 | 8.1.7 | 9.0.0 | 9.0.1 | 9.2.0} I noticed when I keep it default to 9.2.0 in init.ora, in version 9.2.0.3 and 9.2.0.5 with exact same database and exact same init.ora, oracle CBO did choose different plan. So there is some difference between 9.2.0.X versioin for the CBO. Where can we get such information about the difference? Thanks On 12 Jul 2005 23:37:28 -0700, "ch...
