problems conpiling Kerberos 1.3.1 in in NetBSD 1.6ZK

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hi,

I'm trying to compile kerberos 1.3.1 in a NetBSD 1.6ZK -current. I'm getting the error:

working ut_exit.e_exit in utmpx is e_exit
checking consistency of sysV-ish utmp API... not ok
configure: error: have setutent but no ut_id, ut_type, or ut_pid in utmp
configure: error: /usr/pkg/bin/bash './configure' failed for util/pty

while configuring. Do you know can I solve it? It seems like it is trying to configure for a SYSV system instead for a BSD. I had compile it fine in NetBSD 1.6.1-stable systems, but I can't get problem in this system.

Best regards and thanks in advance

Could you please send the portion of the configure script output
corresponding to the util/pty directory (from "configuring in
util/pty" to the next "configuring in" line)? That might help us to
diagnose this problem. I believe the problem is related to some
recent changes to utmp.h and utmpx.h in NetBSD-current which have not
propagated to 1.6.1-stable.

Of course, if I can give any other information, please tell me.

Has anyone got a version of putty to work with the Kerberos for Windows release 3.1? I'm running win xp and am able to get my kerberos 5 tokens fine (from CSAIL.MIT.EDU) in NetIDMgr, but I've tried various supposedly kerberos-aware versions of putty with no luck. Greetings, This might be a little OT and if it is I apologize. I am attempting to compile kerberos and sudo on RedHat 8 and gcc 3.2. Kerberos compiles fine, and I install to a tmp DESTDIR. Kerberos 1.3.1 on HPUX ?
Hi, Has anybody successfully compiled/built Kerberos 1.3.1 on HPUX (11, 11i, 10.20) ? The HP ANSI C compiler (to be accurate, the cpp.ansi pre-processor) on my system dies with signal 11 when it tries to process aestab.c, and there is no other error message. In addition, HPUX doesn't have "inet_ntop()", and the MIT version of "inet_ntop" macro is causing error due to the incompatible data types. The error message is: cc: "dispatch.c", line 58: error 1647: Illegal integer-pointer combination for second and third operands of conditional expression (?:). I'm wondering whether I can re-implement a C version of inet_ntop() to replace the macro one? If somebody has already built krb5 1.3.1 on any of HPUX, can you do a "swlist -l product" and let me know what version of HP ANSI C compiler you have on your HPUX system? I wonder whether GNU C could build krb5 1.3.1 without problem.... Problem installing matplotlib 1.3.1 with Python 2.7.6 and 3.3.3 (release candidate 1)
Hello, I tried to install matplotlib 1.3.1 on the release candidates of Python 2.7.6 and 3.3.3. I am on Mac OS X 10.6.8. Although the installation gave no problems, there is a problem with Tcl/Tk. The new Pythons have their own embedded Tcl/Tk, but when installing matplotlib it links to the Frameworks version of Tcl and TK, not to the embedded version. This causes confusion when importing matplotlib.pyplot: objc[70648]: Class TKApplication is implemented in both /Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.7/lib/libtk8.5.dylib and /Library/Frameworks/Tk.framework/Versions/8.5/Tk. The expression isn't a = 1 - (1-), but: a = -1 - (1) der <der@noemail.com> scribbled the following: > The expression isn't a = 1 - (1-), but: a = -1 - (1) Ah, that's different, then. Then the answer is: The result will be -2. You have *no* guarantees about which of -1 or (1) is evaluated first, but as they don't have side effects, you don't have to care. -- /-- Joona Palaste (palaste@cc.helsinki.fi) ---------------------------\ | Kingpriest of "The Flying Lemon Tree" G++ FR FW+ M- #108 D+ ADA N+++| | http://www.helsinki.fi/~palaste W++ B OP+ | \----------------------------------------- Finland rules! ------------/ "To doo bee doo bee doo." - Frank Sinatra ...

Kerberos 1.4.1
I recently upgraded to Kerberos 1.4.1 from 1.3.6 on Gentoo and found that C-Kermit 8.0.211 make xermit with flags "-DCK_AUTHENTICATION -DCK_KERBEROS -DCK_ENCRYPTION -DCK_DES -DKRB5" wouldn't compile anymore. The linker would die with with "In function `ck_auth_init':: undefined reference to `krb5_init_ets'," I googled that function and found that it was deprecated a while back, wasn't considered part of the public Kerberos API, and was removed in Kerberos 1.4. It apparently broke several Kerberos applications. While looking in the ckuath.c file, I n...

focus issues going from 1.3.1 to 1.4.1?
I have a program where I'm using JFrames that pop up JDialogs that aren't modal. I wasn't having this issue when I was in 1.3.1, but now that I'm in 1.4.1 the JDialogs are appearing behind the main JFrame when they pop up and when I select them to the front they'll go back behind again after like the first 10 seconds. But once I select it to the front again it doesn't do it anymore. It's really weird. Has anyone ever seen this before? JDK 1.4.1 vs JDK 1.3.1
Hi, I have good emperical evidence (from direct experience) that Java 1.3.1 run time works well for server side, 24x7, high transaction rates apps. So here I am having to develop another such application from scratch and I need to pick a JDK to program against. Is 1.4.1 just as stable? Better? Worse? I know about NIO, asserts and all the cool features in 1.4.1, and I've used these is many smaller client side apps. They are not the unknowns. What I want is opinions about the stability and suitability of 1.4.1 over 1.3.1 for a high transaction rate, mission critical server sid...
