Using dns with kerberos-1.6.3 on AIX 5.3

Greetings list,
I am trying to build kerberos-1.6.3 on an AIX 5.3 platform using
--enable-dns --enable-dns-for-kdc --enable-dns-for-realm. It would
appear that the ./configure script is not finding -lresolv in AIX.
However, this seems to work fine on my Linux systems which seem to
function properly with --enable-dns and are able to find -lresolv
provided by glibc. I've tried symlinking libresolv.a to libc.a on the
AIX system, but I still get the same error from kerberos after
rebuilding when I try to use kinit with a realm who's KDC SRV records
are published in DNS.

Is there any workaround to be able to use --enable-dns on systems,
like AIX, without -lresolv? Or am I missing something?

Thanks in advance.

Kerberos 5 v1.5.1 on AIX 5.2 or AIX 5.3
Any one had any success compiling KRB5 1.5.1 on AIX 5.2 or 5.3 ? I am experiencing the same errors as a previous poster; but have not seen any solutions. Configure is successful with the following flags: export CC=cc export CFLAGS='-D_LARGE_FILES -DLANL -DLANL_ICN'; export CFLAGS ../configure --prefix=/usr/local/kerberos --enable-dns-for-realm --with-tcl=/usr/local --with-vague-errors Same config I use to compile 1.4.4 successfully with the LANL patches provided by Milton Turley. Hi, I've seem some references to this issue before without resolution, has anyone been able to compile Kerberos 1.6 on AIX successfully? I've tried with both the IBM compiler and gcc, both IBM & GNU's ld seems to get confused during the link of gssrpc and associated libs. Wasn't really the solution I came up with; but it worked. You might be correct since now the OpenSSL binaries will not build against the Kerberos libraries currently. libssl and libcrypto build fine along with everything else; but the actual openssl binary fails. Phil, Have you successfully linked OpenSSL with the new Kerberos libraries ? if time = 3 seconds, how do i set the values of the time steps 0,0.1,0.2,0.3,0.5,1.0,1.5,2.0,3.0,5.0 to -9999 from time =3 seconds
Hi I have 18 inputs (arrays) which contain certain statistics and if time = 3 seconds, set the values of time step 5.0 to -9999.0. I was wondering if there is an efficient way to do this without using a lot of case statements? Thank you. Hello AdrianT, it's not really clear to me what you want to do... I suspect: you have an array containing values and you want to output them with a fixed timing of 3 seconds: you should use a for loop autoindexing trough your array and sending the value to your indicator/output/whatever. Put a "wait for next multiple" into your for loop. Or do you want to have a minimum time delay of 3 seconds? Again use a for loop, get the time value and use a InRange&Coerce with minimum set to 3 seconds... Or you should explain more precisely what you need... Hi Thanks for that. Let me explain. The time may vary. Let me give an example. if time = 2.1, I want to set the time step's 3.0 and 5.0's values to -9999.0. if the time =0.1 seconds then I want to set 0.2,0.3, 0.5 etc values to -9999.0 etc .................................................................... Can you please help? Thank you. Hello TUDS, do you use different accounts/nicknames ? Well, that's easy, at least for a sorted array: Search for your time-value in the array (Threshold 1D array). Fill all elements from that index till the end with your "error...

Transferring Eudora Addresses from older mac using OS 8.6 and Eudora 5.1 to new iMac using Panther !0.3 and Eudora 6.1
I have looked at all items on the strings appropriate or close to this problem back to May2004 with no useful input. I saved my old Eudora folder from my old machine on to a CD. I then loaded this into the new iMac and copied the Eudora Folder (not the applications folder) on to the desktop thinking Eudora 6.1 would see it and do the business. I had previously loaded up Eudora 6.1 (which seems to be working perfectly in all other aspects) and when it asked if I wanted to import infor from another application I said yes to..."from other". ( Eudora is not among these that it lists) It says it can't find it. I then put my old folder into Applications>documents but when I started up Eudora it asked again if I wanted to import but wouldn't or wasn't able. Noting the points in an older question I repeated this exercise but this time from Home>documents. Still no joy. Help Please reply to my email address above if possible. Did you copy it to the CD in Mac format, or was the CD set to be PC compatible? If the latter, it will have lost the Mac information it needs (the resource for...

[RELEASED] Release candidates for Python 2.6.8, 2.7.3, 3.1.5, and 3.2.3
We're pleased to announce the immediate availability of release candidates for Python 2.6.8, 2.7.3, 3.1.5, and 3.2.3 . The main impetus for these releases is fixing a security issue in Python's hash based types, dict and set, as described below. Python 2.7.3 and 3.2.3 include the security patch and the normal set of bug fixes. Since Python 2.6 and 3.1 are maintained only for security issues, 2.6.8 and 3.1.5 contain only various security patches. The security issue exploits Python's dict and set implementations. Carefully crafted input can lead to extremely long computation times a...

Carefully crafted input can lead to extremely long computation times and denials of service. [1] Python dict and set types use hash tables to provide amortized constant time operations. Hash tables require a well-distributed hash function to spread data evenly across the hash table. The security issue is that an attacker could compute thousands of keys with colliding hashes; this causes quadratic algorithmic complexity when the hash table is constructed. To alleviate the problem, the new releases add randomization to the hashing of Python's string types (bytes/str in Python 3 and str/unicode in Python 2), datetime.date, and datetime.datetime. This prevents an attacker from computing colliding keys of these types without access to the Python process. Hash randomization causes the iteration order of dicts and sets to be unpredictable and differ across Python runs. Python has never guaranteed iteration order of keys in a dict or set,...

RE: [ace-users] ACE 5.3
Hi, 5.3 is ancient, visual age 7 is brand new, I don't think anyone is using this and you problaby will find issues because this is not tested.
