GPS mask angle

Hi,

The GPS receiver I'm using (an Oncore M12+) has a mask angle setting, by 
default 10 degrees.

The antenna is at an altitude of about 600ft with a clear view of the 
pacific ocean, is there any advantage or disadvantage for timing purposes 
to lowering the mask angle to 0?

All you can add doing this is bad measurements due
to the huge uncertainty on ionospheric delays.
Stick to 10, or even go up to 15.

David,

The signals from low-elevation satellites will traverse more metres of
atmosphere, so the ionosphere and troposphere propagation corrections 
may be less accurate.
