Can Nero and Roxio co-exist on my HD without conflicts?

  • Follow

Since Nero doesn't have nice pre-made templates to use for CD Jewel
Cases, but Roxio does can I install them both on the same HD, maybe
separated by a partition?

If it's going to cause a conflict I won't bother doing it, I'd like to
burn the CD in Nero and use Roxio to make the case inserts. Plus I
despise the CD cover creator in Nero, I have to re-learn it each time
I use it! Grrr.

So can I do it or will one interfere with the other? I have an old
version 5 of Roxio fwiw.

Thanks,

If there are conflicts, they are because of driver conflicts and the
drivers will be installed in Windows directory anyhow. Thus separating
by partitions won't help. My recollection of problems with Ezcd 5 is the
problems with itself - bugs. (Tried searching groups.google, but the
search function went to pot.)

The Nero user interface is certainly not intuitive.

If you are on Winxp, make sure the Ezcd version is 5.3.5.10 or later.
Also, Ezcd 5 is not compatible with WMP 11 or Internet Explorer 7.

My recollection is that conflicts or compatibility issues are mainly
with DirectCD and InCD. Make a restore point before installing Ezcd (and
keep fingers crossed). Sorry can't be of much help unless I find out how
to make the search function of groups.google work again.

Hi smh,

I KNEW you would have the answer so thanks for taking the time to
reply. In spite of all the schooling you have given me on using the
dreaded Nero Jewel Case creator................ I still hate the darn
thing! Looking at EZCD made me sad to see all those nice pre-made
templates going to waste. No sense cocking up the system though to try
and use it. Maybe I could leave Roxio on this machine..............
and put Nero on the new one. Then change machines whenever I want to
make a case insert! :D

Thanks and Happy New Year...

Did some more searching in groups.google and came across a post stating
Nero and Ezcd coexist without problems, and a warning that if packet
writing is used, only one packet writing software (either DirectCD or
InCD) should be installed. I would make a restore point and then install
Nero so that you wouldn't have to switch machines.
