### batch entities depending on the attributes

• Email
• Follow

```I am working in Arena 7.01.00
I want to compare entities and batch them in pairs depending on the
attributes of the individual entities. The entities are paper reels.
The entities have the attributes diameter, width, machine number.
I want to batch them in pairs if:
If (They have the same machine number)
And
If (the differense in diameter is not more than 100mm)
And
If (width of entitie1+ width of entite2 is not more than 3 times the
diameter of entitie1
And now comes the tricky part.
If I can't batch entite1 and entite2 then I want to compare entite2
and entite3.
If I can't batch entite2 and entite3 then I want to compare entite3
and entite4....
Does anyone have any thoughts on how to solve this problem?
I had to do that two different ways in a beginning programming course.  The
hard part was finding a second reasonable way to do it.  Both algorithms
ran in n^^2 time.
Can someone point me in the right direction to take the dependencies out of the following code ? for (i=0; i < m; i++) { n1 = n2; n2 = n2 + n2; e = -6.283185307179586/n2; a = 0.0; for (j=0; j < n1; j++) { c = cos(a); s = sin(a); a = a + e; for (k=j; k < n; k=k+n2) { { t1 = c*x[k+n1] - s*y[k+n1]; t2 = s*x[k+n1] + c*y[k+n1]; x[k+n1] = x[k] - t1; y[k+n1] = y[k] - t2; x[k] = x[k] + t1; y[k] = y[k] + t2; } } } } -- [ See http://www.gotw.ca/resources/clcm.htm for info about ] [ comp...
Problem with Solidworks Block Attributes vs. AutoCAD Block Attributes
Hello All, A Block in Autocad lets me change every attribute individually. For example; I have a octagon block that has attributes for "CurrentPage" and "CurrentLine". The same block is used 21 times down the left margin. I use this format for electrical schematics. In Autocad I change the attributes to one of those blocks and the rest stay the same. I saved this block into a solidworks block and used it the same way in solidworks, but when I change one "CurrentLine" attribute it changes every "CurrentLine" for every instance of that block. Can an...
Good morning or good evening depending upon your location. I want to ask you the most important question of your life. Your joy or sorrow for all eternity depends upon your answer. The question
This is the most important question of your life. The question is: Do you floss? It is not a question of how well you brush, nor if you use mouthwash, but do you floss? Are you sure you will keep all the teeth you still have? The reason some people don't know for sure if they are maintaining a preventitive oral dentifrice is because they just don't know what those words mean. The good news is that you can know for sure whether you will keep all of your teeth. Dental textbooks describe full-toothed-ness as a beautiful place with no death, sorrow, sickness or pain. Dentitists tell...
attribute grammars
Hi, I'm looking at easier ways to write attribute grammars for a preprocessor I have. Speed is not as important as being able to just quickly write the grammar (this is for a preprocessor and changing attribution is common). Currently I just manually walk over the ast and, while flexible, it's confusing. A few years back I used ELI that, for all I can tell, is a common way to deal with attribute grammars. ELI contains an attribute grammar language where each attribute can only be assigned once and is a function of attributes within the same node or nodes directly below. (There are al...
Dependency solving
How are cyclic dependencies solved in object-oriented languages? Say, we have a class (in a C++-like language): class T { public: T clone() { T p(); return p; } }; To solve dependencied of the class T, which depends on the method clone(), the type checking mechanism must solve dependencies of clone(), which depends on T. A simple, recursive solver, like this pseudocode: solve_type(t) if (t == class) solve_class(c) end solve_class(c) for all m in methods solve_method(m) end solve_method(m) ...
what is the dependence vector
Hi I'm reading the paper "A Data Locality Optimizing Algorithm", by Michael E. Wolf and Monica S. Lam. In section 2, it describes the dependence vector as, >>" a generalization of distance and direction vectors. A dependence vector in an n-nested loop is denoted by a vector d=(d1,d2,...,dn) each component di is a possibly infinite range of integers, represented by [di_min, di_max], where di_min b Z b* {-b}, di_max b Z b* {b} and di_min b \$ di_max <<" Here, a n-nested loop corresponds to a finite convex polyhedron of iteration space Zn (n pow...
Best batch processor for images is IMO ImageMagick: http://www.imagemagick.org/ Over the years, I made a lot of scripts to automize my image processing workflow. ImageMagick is extremely powerful and helpful ... though (or better: because) its greatest capabilities are accessible from a shell. Dependence Analysis
Dear all, I am developing a source-to-source compiler based on LLVM/clang. Now I find myself in a situation where I need dependence analysis. I know there are some efforts in building dependence analysis in LLVM based on the IR representation but I need dependence analysis at the AST level. I was looking at the state of the art in production compilers (like GCC and Open64) and the only reasonable way to go seems to be the Polyhedral model (which will also simplify loop transformations). The main problem is that there are several libraries used to solve the integer linear programming model and...
dependency order
i'm having trouble trying to figure this out... it's part of a build system i'm writing in python. maybe someone has a good simple way to solve this. i'm trying to create a dependency order out of multiple lists. list1: B C list2: A B list3: A C i want the end result to be the list: A B C i'm very frustrated that i can't come up with anything that always works. thanks... any clues to solve this would be greatly appreciated. bryan belred@gmail.com schrieb: > i'm having trouble trying to figure this out... it's part of a build > system i'm writin...
Is there any way to show assembly features (specifically the planes) in the view dependencies list? Thanks my @attr = stat(\$filename); if you look up "Perl stat" on Google, you should be able to map the index number in the returned array to the content stored in that index. also, if you are only interested in one piece of info about the file, like the size, you can do: my \$filesize = (stat(\$f...
analyzing dependencies in code
Hello, I have a bunch of rather convoluted C code that uses a lot of global variables. I'm trying to see if I can devise some automatic way of analyzing this code, helping me understand it. Suppose I can obtain the AST for this code (using c2c). I want to analyze the AST and, given some global variable V, understand which other global variables it affects, and what functions can be called as a result of a change in it. I tried approaching this the ad-hoc way, but it's becoming complicated. I see some parallels to dataflow analysis here, though it seems to be a bit different. Any ide...
