    AREA/CLASS/EXAMPLE AFFECTED:
	Building TAO

    DOES THE PROBLEM AFFECT:
        COMPILATION?
            If so, what do your $ACE_ROOT/ace/config.h and
            $ACE_ROOT/include/makeinclude/platform_macros.GNU contain?
        LINKING?
            On Unix systems, did you run make realclean first?
        EXECUTION?
        OTHER (please specify)?

	Some "make" steps are not being executed.

[Please indicate whether ACE/TAO, your application, or both are =
affected.]

    SYNOPSIS:
[Brief description of the problem]

	Building TAO on 64-bit RHEL Linux 6.2, in my "make" output I see
	repeated instances of the wrong system paths being used to =
find/run
	the TclConfig.sh and TkConfig.sh scripts when building down in
	${ACE_ROOT}/TkReactor and in ${TAO_ROOT}/tao/TkResource:

miplbks5{cmbld}% grep -n Config.sh =
TAO/build_TAO_RHEL6.2_x86-64-linux.log
504:/bin/sh: /usr/lib/tclConfig.sh: No such file or directory
505:/bin/sh: /usr/lib/tkConfig.sh: No such file or directory
507:/bin/sh: /usr/lib/tclConfig.sh: No such file or directory
508:/bin/sh: /usr/lib/tkConfig.sh: No such file or directory

4264:/bin/sh: /usr/lib/tclConfig.sh: No such file or directory
4265:/bin/sh: /usr/lib/tkConfig.sh: No such file or directory
4267:/bin/sh: /usr/lib/tclConfig.sh: No such file or directory
4268:/bin/sh: /usr/lib/tkConfig.sh: No such file or directory
4270:/bin/sh: /usr/lib/tclConfig.sh: No such file or directory
4271:/bin/sh: /usr/lib/tkConfig.sh: No such file or directory

    DESCRIPTION:
[Detailed description of problem. Don't just say "<blah>
doesn't work, here's a fix," explain what your program does
to get to the <blah> state. ]

	Here is one such example; I'm building in ${ACE_ROOT}/TAO but =
the
	"make" goes up and over into ../ace/TkReactor et al. and gets =
the
	errors:

> --
> [...]
>=20
> make[1]: Entering directory
> `/usr/local/ACE_wrappers/v6.0.8/x86-64-linux/ace/TkReactor'
>=20
> GNUmakefile:=20
> /usr/local/ACE_wrappers/v6.0.8/x86-64-linux/ace/TkReactor/GNUmakef
> ile.ACE_TkReactor MAKEFLAGS=3Dw

> /bin/sh: /usr/lib/tclConfig.sh: No such file or directory
> /bin/sh: /usr/lib/tkConfig.sh: No such file or directory
> g++ -fno-strict-aliasing -fvisibility=3Dhidden =
-fvisibility-inlines-hidden
> -O3 -ggdb -pthread -Wall -W -Wpointer-arith -pipe -D_GNU_SO
> URCE  =20
> -I/usr/local/ACE_wrappers/v6.0.8/x86-64-linux/include
> -DACE_NO_INLINE -I../.. -DACE_TKREACTOR_BUILD_DLL    -c -
> fPIC -o .shobj/TkReactor.o TkReactor.cpp
> /bin/sh: /usr/lib/tclConfig.sh: No such file or directory
> /bin/sh: /usr/lib/tkConfig.sh: No such file or directory
> [...]
> --

As you can see, the errors are repeated instances of

/bin/sh: /usr/lib/tclConfig.sh: No such file or directory
/bin/sh: /usr/lib/tkConfig.sh: No such file or directory

This happens in

${ACE_ROOT}/TkReactor (twice)
${TAO_ROOT}/tao/TkResource (3 times)

I don't understand why this is happening, because this is a 64-bit =
system and "buildbits" is properly set to "64" in the file
..../include/makeinclude/platform_macros.GNU:

--
{cmbld}% grep buildbits include/makeinclude/*linux* =
include/makeinclude/*macros*
include/makeinclude/platform_linux_common.GNU:ifeq ($(buildbits),64)
include/makeinclude/platform_linux_common.GNU:ifeq ($(buildbits),64)

include/makeinclude/platform_linux_common.GNU.orig:ifeq =
($(buildbits),64)
include/makeinclude/platform_linux_common.GNU.orig:ifeq =
($(buildbits),64)

include/makeinclude/platform_linux_common.GNU.qt4:ifeq ($(buildbits),64)
include/makeinclude/platform_linux_common.GNU.qt4:ifeq ($(buildbits),64)

include/makeinclude/platform_linux.GNU:ifeq ($(buildbits),32)
include/makeinclude/platform_linux.GNU:ifeq ($(buildbits),64)

include/makeinclude/platform_linux_suncc.GNU:ifeq ($(buildbits),32)
include/makeinclude/platform_linux_suncc.GNU:ifeq ($(buildbits),64)

include/makeinclude/platform_macros.GNU:buildbits =3D 64
--

and "platform_linux_common.GNU" has the proper lines to set these paths:

--
ifeq ($(buildbits),64)
PLATFORM_TK_CPPFLAGS=3D$(shell . /usr/lib64/tkConfig.sh && echo -n =
$$TK_INCLUDE_SPEC $$TK_DEFS)
PLATFORM_TK_LIBS=3D$(shell . /usr/lib64/tkConfig.sh && echo -n =
$$TK_LIB_FLAG)
else
PLATFORM_TK_CPPFLAGS=3D$(shell . /usr/lib/tkConfig.sh && echo -n =
$$TK_INCLUDE_SPEC $$TK_DEFS)
PLATFORM_TK_LIBS=3D$(shell . /usr/lib/tkConfig.sh && echo -n =
$$TK_LIB_FLAG)
endif
PLATFORM_TK_LDFLAGS=3D

ifeq ($(buildbits),64)
PLATFORM_TCL_CPPFLAGS=3D$(shell . /usr/lib64/tclConfig.sh && echo -n =
$$TCL_INCLUDE_SPEC $$TCL_DEFS)
PLATFORM_TCL_LIBS=3D$(shell . /usr/lib64/tclConfig.sh && echo -n $$(eval =
echo $$TCL_LIB_FLAG))
else
PLATFORM_TCL_CPPFLAGS=3D$(shell . /usr/lib/tclConfig.sh && echo -n =
$$TCL_INCLUDE_SPEC $$TCL_DEFS)
PLATFORM_TCL_LIBS=3D$(shell . /usr/lib/tclConfig.sh && echo -n $$(eval =
echo $$TCL_LIB_FLAG))
endif
--

yet I still get the messages.

But I see both "/usr/lib64/qt-3.3/lib" and "/usr/X11R6/lib64" in the =
build output:

{cmbld}% grep lib64 TAO/build_TAO_RHEL6.2_x86-64-linux.log
g++ -pthread -Wl,-O3 -shared -Wl,-h -Wl,libACE_FlReactor.so.6.0.8 \
-o libACE_FlReactor.so.6.0.8 .shobj/FlReactor.o -Wl,-E -L../../lib -L.  =
\
-L../../lib   -L/usr/X11R6/lib64 -L/usr/X11R6/lib64 \
-Wl,-R/usr/local/ACE_wrappers/v6.0.8/x86-64-linux/lib \
-Wl,--enable-new-dtags -lACE -ldl -lrt -lfltk -lfltk_forms -lfltk_gl =
-lGL -lX11

g++ -fno-strict-aliasing -fvisibility=3Dhidden =
-fvisibility-inlines-hidden \
-O3 -ggdb -pthread -Wall -W -Wpointer-arith -pipe -D_GNU_SOURCE   \
-I/usr/local/ACE_wrappers/v6.0.8/x86-64-linux/include \
-DACE_NO_INLINE -I../.. -I/usr/lib64/qt-3.3/include -DACE_HAS_QT4 \
-DACE_QTREACTOR_BUILD_DLL  -c -fPIC -o .shobj/QtReactor_moc.o =
QtReactor_moc.cpp

which are also "buildbits"-dependent settings, so other things seem to =
be getting set correctly. Just not these Tcl/Tk things.

    REPEAT BY:
[What you did to get the error; include test program or session
transcript if at all possible. ]

	Just doing a full "make" of TAO will provoke several of these.

    SAMPLE FIX/WORKAROUND:
[If available ]

	None.

Any idea why this would be happening? Is there some other place where =
"buildbits" could possibly be set that is affecting the TAO build? (I =
don't recall seeing these same errors when I built the ACE part.)

Thanks in advance.
