Is there a reason for this (is further testing necessary here)? Thanks, Alexej Hi, > I noticed that the bugfix for the bug 3950 is not included in the > release 6.0.2. Is there a reason for this (is further testing > necessary here)? Before integrating 3950 the code has to be reviewed, than integrated, and than the scoreboard has to be monitored in detail. We don't have room at this moment to do that without funding, our time for handling bugzilla issues is very limited at this moment. Could you also add some new unit test to ACE_wrappers/tests for the ACE classes, I think these aren't explicitly tested at this moment. Johnny Hi Johnny, > ... Re: [tao-users] ACE 5.3.5 + TAO 1.3.5 + CIAO 0.3.5 beta released #2 #2
Hi Alex, > What are OCI's plan's for a supported TAO 1.4 release and developer > guide? Will this effect the release of the 1.3 guide? This is an excellent question - I'm sure Malcolm Spence will pitch in when he has a chance and I suspect that OCI will be supporting TAO 1.4 in due time. None of the changes in TAO 1.4 should affect the relevance of the info in the TAO 1.3 developer's guide - there's just more new stuff to document as time permits. Take care, Doug ...

moving from 1.6.2 and 2.0.2 to 3.0
Are there any known dangers in migrating from 1.6.2 and 2.0.2 to 3.0 (i386 is my platform)? I have been caught out by the removal of support (e.g. packages) for 1.6.2, and have several serious production machines to upgrade. In particular, two of these are colocated on an ISP's site. If upgrades there go wrong it's costly in all sorts of ways. I'd be grateful for people with experience to mention any snags they found. I imagine /etc is sensitive in particular, but there's an alarming sentence or two in the installation documentation about PAM and possibly ending up una...

[ace-users] NetBSD 2.0.2 : ACE 5.4 compilation failure
A copy of this message with mentioned attachments has been sent to owner-ace-users@cse.wustl.edu ------------ Hi! If you lack of time, please read directly the PRF below... :-) I tried to be the most complete possible. even if I mix a bit with my other problems, to place in my context, i tried to focus these message on ACE Compilation problem. I am afraid this post is too verbose and you may get tired by reading all. If you have some good hints about how to inform the most efficiently, please comment back the bad (not clear, too large, too short...) sections of this message. [INTRODUCTION] Since a few months, I am enjoying so much learning and testing the features of ACE for the construction of an embedded-realtime appliance. I get introduced with the great help of ACE Programmer's Guide Book, but I still feel vey newbie in the domain, so please take it in account if I have missed / miss important things (concepts, good usage,...). I realy want to build the server on this framework, but I still get stuck on several problems. this 'first' post is about compilation problem on NetBSD, in the next days I suppose will send more questions and remarks about : ACE_SSL (problem with ACE_Svc_Handler::handle_close that may crash when calling SSL_shutdown, I have found a workaround by calling SSL_CTX_set_quiet_shutdown. more details in next message). The server application will run on a NetBSD platform. Until now, I never could bui...
