[tao-users] Re: ACE+TAO+CIAO - 5.4.3 + 1.4.3 + 0.4.3 released

Hi folks,

It's been a long time (5 months) since we put out the x.4.2
ACE+TAO+CIAO beta, and the current x.4.3 beta contains many
improvements, fixes, and new features. It would be great if you could
put this through its paces and let us know what problems you find so
we can fix them ASAP. We plan to release the x.4.4 beta fairly soon
(i.e., within a month), so your thorough testing will greatly improve
its stability and portabilty!

Thanks very much,

        Doug

Hello,

about the option MT_NOUPCALLS

are there any details about the scenarios which do not work?
I can only find the ChangeLog entry
Thu Aug 19 16:49:24 2004 Chris Cleeland <cleeland_c@ociweb.com>
and the original scenario seems to be

          The strategy was motivated by
the need to recognize connections opened in the client role
          and
closed by the far side. Using Wait_On_Read, the closure would
only be recognized the next time an invocation gets made that
          goes through that connection.

I have AIX 4.3.0 installed and want to get the latest 4.3 updates installed. I try to install all the updates from IBM's "fix support delivery center" web site, but it complains that I have to be at 4.3.3.0 or later to install the fixes. Re: [ace-users] ACE Tests FAIL on Windows XP / Cygwin / gcc 3.4.4
Hi, Thanks for using the prf form. This is a known issue, Cygwin support is experimental and not ready for production. Have a look at the link below, we do as Remedy IT a daily build with Cygwin but disabled the tests last november because they caused problems on our build system. We did fix a lot of issues in the past but we haven't continued with that because we had no funding for the Cygwin port. Please deliver patches to improve the cygwin support or hire commercial support to improve the Cygwin port. http://www.dre.vanderbilt.edu/~remedynl/teststat/builds/WinXP_Cygwin_GCC_3_4 _4_ACE.html Regards, Johnny Willemsen Remedy IT Postbus 101 2650 AC Berkel en Rodenrijs The Netherlands www.theaceorb.nl / www.remedy.nl "nitin" <g6nitin@gmail.com> wrote in message news:<1169477696.240679.5360@v45g2000cwv.googlegroups.com>... > > > ACE VERSION: 5.5 > > HOST MACHINE and OPERATING SYSTEM: Microsoft Windows XP > Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2 > If on Windows based OS's, which version of WINSOCK do you > use?: > Version 3.10.0.103 > > > > TARGET MACHINE and OPERATING SYSTEM, if different from HOST: > COMPILER NAME AND VERSION (AND PATCHLEVEL): > > Cygwin 1.5.23-2 and gcc version 3.4.4 > > THE $ACE_ROOT/ace/config.h FILE [if you use a link to a platform- > specific file, simply stat...

[ace-users] Re: ACE on Solaris-10 on amd-64 platform and g++ 3.4.3
Hi Dheena, To ensure that we have proper version/platform/compiler information, please make sure you fill out the appropriate problem report form (PRF), which is in $ACE_ROOT/PROBLEM-REPORT-FORM $TAO_ROOT/PROBLEM-REPORT-FORM or in $ACE_ROOT/BUG-REPORT-FORM $TAO_ROOT/BUG-REPORT-FORM in older versions of ACE+TAO. Make sure to include this information when asking any questions about ACE+TAO since otherwise we have to "guess" what version/platform/compiler/options you've using, which is error-prone and slows down our responsiveness. RE: [tao-users] Strange warning when updating from tao 1.4.4 to 1.4.8
Hi, Please always use the PRF form. Some of the TAO libraries itself use ORBInitializers and PI (for example PortableServer and Messaging). Because of that it can be that the libraries are searched. If you don't need portable interceptors, the best is to disable that then during compilation, that will reduce footprint and improve performance. [tao-users] RE: TAO 1.4.3 : DynamicInterface for CosEvent_Serv ?
Hi, The dynamic interface is used for the ec_typed_events functionity. You could remove that by adding to bin/MakeProjectCreator/config/default.features the contents: ec_typed_events=0 And then regenerate the project files using MPC.
