Hello all, To improve Maple computer algebra system to the benefit of the whole symbolic computation community, we keep researching via the VM machine plus human being interaction the evolution of quality of Maple since the very beginning. Thus we need as many Maple versions as possible. Currently, we are able to verify our numerous calculated results for Maple 11, 10, 9.5, 9, 8, 7, 6, V Release 5/4/3 versions only. We were wondering where could we buy or download for free Maple V Release 2, Maple V Release 1 etc ... at least one of them? If you do not know the exact way or...

Hello all, To improve Maple computer algebra system to the benefit of the symbolic computation community, we keep researching the evolution of quality of Maple since the very beginning. Thus we need as many Maple versions as possible. Currently, we have access to Maple 9.5, 9, 8, 7, 6, V Release 5/4/3 versions only. Where could we buy or download for free Maple V Release 2, Maple V Release 1... at least one of them? If you do not know the exact way or location but have any ideas however vague please do not hesitate to let us know! Much thanks for any hint in advance. Bes...

In Maple V Release 5, I had a command of the form > libname:= libname, "mydir": in my MapleInit file, and the result was that if I had a text file "foo" consisting of Maple commands in the directory "mydir", I could read it into Maple by typing > read foo; So now I'm trying to get this running under Maple 7, and it's baffling me. There are 2 problems: 1) When I try to add the libname command to the "Maple 7 Init Preference" file and start up Maple, I get the following error: > on line 1, syntax error, unexpec...

Hi Maple customers all over the world, The other day we observed how Maple 9.5.2 / 9.5.1 / 9.5, given two polynomials, P(z) and Q(z), of 4th and 5th degrees, handles (loops/crashes) int(P(z)/Q(z), z=0..infinity); while during 9 years, 2003-1994, from Maple 9.03 to Maple V Rel 4 the things run absolutely smoothly. http://groups-beta.google.com/group/sci.math.symbolic/msg/2e899d207528378c?hl=en Here comes yet another truly beautiful picture. Just ask yourself, if you have a parameter with no specifications whatsoever, is there any vestige of difference to write it as 'a&#...

When I select "Open file" in Maple 9, all my Maple V.5 and Maple 7 worksheets are greyed out; is there any way to get Maple 9 to open them? (I'm on a Mac, so I don't have the Claasic Worksheet interface, if that matters.) Cordialement. I am used to work with Maple 7; I would like to know if someone can tell me if it is worthwhile upgrading to Maple 9. Despite using Matlab for numerical calculations, I also use Maple to perform some numerical tasks, in particular for the solution of boundary value problems. Maple 7 uses an algorithm based on the finite difference method (dsolve) for bvp, does anyone knows if Maple 9 has new algortihms for boundary value problems. Thank you for your help. Best regards ...

This file runs about 100X - 1000X faster on Maple V Release 2.0a than it does on Maple 7. I generate two lists of random number and plot them against each other. The problem is in the plotting. Can someone who still has Maple V on their computer explain what is happening. Here is the file which I broke up to clearly show that it is the plotting which is taking up all that time. st:=time(): R:= rand(1..100): L1:=[seq(R(),i=1..4096)]: L2:=[seq(R(),i=1..4096)]: P:=(x,y)->[x,y]: Points:=zip(P,L1,L2): time()-st; st:=time(): plot(Points, style=point, symbol=cross); time()-st; ...

No problem to read Maple 7.0 file with Maple 9.5. But in 9.5 there only menu to save as Maple 9 or Maple 8. Our college lab use 7.0 and some teacher as reported this problem working with Maple 9.5. They cannot use file saved with 9.5 in the lab with Maple version 7.0. There is an option to export as Maple Input but then every formating is lost. Is there any tool to convert (directly ?) Maple 9.5 file to Maple 7.0 ? In article <a_birtz-2011040802070001@192.168.1.3>, Alain Birtz <a_birtz@yahoo.ca> wrote: > No problem to read Maple 7.0 file with Maple 9.5. > But ...
