hello to you.

a quick google turned up this scilab contribution on support vector
machine (SVM) toolbox:
http://scilabsoft.inria.fr/contrib/displayContribution.php?fileID=185

there is a nice graphical description of the SVM concept here:
http://www.dtreg.com/svm.htm

i'm sure there is more classification information out there. if you
have a particular problem, you may have to roll your own. however that
SVM toolbox looks like a good place to start.

hope it helps.

Hello Moto...hello?...hello?
Hope this isn't OT but I'm looking for help with syncing a Motorola V3 RAZR bluetooth cell phone with my 10.3.8 Mac - and although it is advertised as Mac-compatible, the Phone Tools CD that came with it is Windows-only. Does anyone know if I can still use iSync with this 'phone to sync contacts? I'm assuming that I can anyway connect it via USB and drag stuff in manually but it would be a bit of a let-down if I can't sync automatically. I spoke to Motorola and they said that Apple knew of a way to make their Phone Tools software install under OsX. But the Apple bod I spo...

Math.random() and Math.round(Math.random()) and Math.floor(Math.random()*2)
Assuming one needs to have a function returning false or true on each call in pseudo-random order.and using JavaScript native Math.random() method as the basis of the pseudo-randomness. Say the variants of such function are: getAnswer1() { var n = Math.round(Math.random()); return n ? true : false; } getAnswer2() { var n = Math.floor(Math.random()*2); return (n==2) ? true : false; } Leaving obvious practical testing by platforms aside: Is there are theoretical considerations that pseudo-randomness (predictability) of either of above will be better or worse than the o...

Scicos is now a separate project called ScicosLab. it is based on version 4.x of scicos. I have tried using scicos-HDL and found it to be lacking. Basically this was some grad students class project and doesn't seem to be well maintained. Also it is not part of the scicos consortium so I don't think you will get much support. But, I think it will install with ScicosLab 4.3 Dave would you think I could install it to xcos somehow? would their be a way to turn scilabs math equations I write into a model block in xcos then save it as a model of some sort then something else turn that model data into hdl? How about the c output any good results with that? Is there any soft about video for scilab?
Who known? I known SIVP can do it,but it can only play in linux,not Windows Their is also VIP, but it has been devellopped on scilab 2.7 and doesn't work under scilab 4.0 I think you must use another language then Scilab to create a video With C you have a lot of possibilitise With Java you can use ImageJ and AviWriter If you are under windows, export your images from Scilab with SIP, and use virtualdub to make a video with this images (it works also with command line and it pretty powerful) yb0121@gmail.com wrote: > Who known? > > I known SIVP can do it,but it can only play in linux,not Windows There is a windows version of SIVP : http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=134898 regards, Pierre I have just ask the SIVP's author,he told me that it can't use in Windows now,it only can be used in linux, ...

What are files Z80.SYS, Z80CCP.SYS and PRMTVPVT.SYS for?
Had a good Christmas this weekend? I came across diskettes with "Mailmerge 3.0 and Calcstar version 1.45 for CP/M 8080", that seem to be for a Dec Rainbow machine. Besides a Mailmerge overlay and the Calcstar files, some CP/M and some CP/M-86 files, there are three files on the diskettes that I never have heard of before: Z80.SYS, Z80CCP.SYS and PRMTVPVT.SYS. There are no ASCII texts in PRMTVPVT.SYS. The only ASCII text in Z80.SYS (at the end of the file) is "EI SPHLDI XCHGPCHLXTHLRET HLT CMC STC CMA DAA RAR RAL RRC RLC NOP CPI ORI XRI ANI SBI IN SUI OUT ACI ADI CALLJMP LDA...

Can scilab do symbolic math ?
Dear Users I have a function in MATLAB that I wanted to convert into Scilab. (read at the end of this post !) It involves a basic symbolic math application in MATLAB. I am in the process of moving away from MATLAB completely, so I am finding some problems during my migration. scilab.star and scilab.ini in scilab-5.0.2
I can't find it. Can't find the file, though there's a documentation about it in the help (under the keyword "startup"). In scilab-4.1.1 it is simply located in <path2sci>/ In SCIHOME/.Scilab/scilab-5.0.2 there's no scilab.ini neither. So: how does it loads all its own libs first place? (in scilab-4.1.1, all is done from SCI/scilab.star) Now in order to load my own libraries or third parties ones such as SIP, I will create a scilab.star in SCI (for scilab-5.0.2). New Online Math Community for Scilab
For anyone that's getting tired of all the spam in this forum, I want to invite everyone to check out the new on-line community Scilab announced on their website a couple weeks ago (www.equalis.com). The site has a dedicated forum and interest group for scilab users - registration is free. Even though it's only been a couple weeks there are already questions being posted daily and 90% of the posts have at least a response. Looks promising. forum: http://www.equalis.com/forums/topics.asp?forum=95169& group: http://www.equalis.com/members/group.asp?id=63628 ...

Deploy to web server ( soft-sys )
I would like to run my script on a web server that I do not have root access with (i.e. cannot install anything). My script reads an image (from a given URL), uses some Image Processing Toolbox functions, then writes the image. No user input/output is needed and no GUI functionality, just file I/O. I have been playing with a simple hello-world script and the Compiler Toolbox, and I have been trying to run the resulting binaries from ssh on the web server (Linux environment), but what I am seeing is that the MCR must be installed to the deployed machine. Hopefully I am wrong about this, because I need everything completely self-contained so that I can run it strictly within my folder on the server. Can I please get a suggestion on how to proceed with this? Any direction would be greatly appreciated ASAP (project deadline approaching fast). Thanks! Take a look at the Web Figures section of the Java Builder documentation: http://www.mathworks.com/access/helpdesk/help/toolbox/javabuilder/ug/... Or you can use CGI to call your program on the server, have your program generate a JPEG, and then have the server send back a page with the JPEG's url embedded in it. A little tricky, but it can be done. "James " <jamesgpain...@removethis.gmail.com> wrote in message I will look over the documentation, but I believe my problem lies in the inability to use CGI to call the program, since the run-time components cannot be installed to the system folders. Is there a way to have math that is not "display math" look like display math?
Hello. I would like to have TeX typeset math in "displaymath" mode, but without centering it. Is this possible? For example, when entering: $\lim_{n \to \infty}$, the arrow to infinity will appear next to the limit. But when entering: $$\lim_{n \to \infty}$$, TeX will place the arrow directly underneath the limit. Is there are way to control placements like this directly? (another example would be, placing the limits of integration above and below the integral sign as opposed to the right of it). Thank you, Ray L. Ray <rslevitt@optonline.net> wr...

Math::Infinity and Math::NaN
I think it'd be useful to define Infinity and NaN as constants (perhaps within Math, if they'd "pollute" the top level). The way I see it, there's no real reason not to, and right now one has to resort to clumsy looking workarounds to get at them. martin Hi Martin, The new version of Facets (0.7) has an Infinity class. Of course due to it's add-on nature it isn't fully integrated into the rest of the Ruby class system (yet) we're working on it. I will consider also a NaN class. Thanks, T. Asana Math not so good at math?
Hi, (This is a cross-posting to the latex-community forum) I have a wierd bug here... When I compile the document below with xelatex on an XP machine, the $a_i$ comes out as $b_j$ in the PDF document. If I got variables confused like this in my math assignments, I don't think I'd get very good grades ;-) The problem does not occur on my Mac, but as far as I can tell the versions of xelatex, included packages (as per \listfiles) and the Asana fonts themselves are the same on both machines (namely updated yesterday using tlmgr + the Asana fonts installed by hand from CTAN ...
