4D data display bug issue (?) in Matlab 2006a

Hello Group,

When you load 4D data, say of the form data(row, col, slice, time)

and then display a particular voxel time series say :
>>data(2,14,10,:)

(note slice # 10)

Then Matlab displays
>>data(2,14,1,:), PLEASE NOTE : Instead of 10, it shows 1.

Could anyone please tell me if they note this.

Thanks

Jim

serial port reading the data but not displaying the read data in MATLAB
Scenario: i am currently doing a project on transmission of digital video images using matlab. what i need to do is to transmit the image data through the serial port of the computer. i have decompsed the image into individual pixels and i have written a matlab program for trnasmitting the image data. till this point i was sucessful. problem: my radio transmitter which connected to the serial port of the computer is transmitting the data the radio receiver connected to the serial of the another computer and is controlled by MATLAB. though my radio receiver is receiving the data matlab is reading the data but is not displaying the 'READ DATA' through the serial port. i am using the fscanf(obj) function for reading the data of the serial port. and can anyone tell me what is the purpose of 'terminator' is matlab. can anyone solve the problem. and please reply as soon as possible Raghu, The terminator is used to indicate the end of an ASCII string. Basically, FSCANF looks for the terminator to tell it when it has received a complete string and can attempt to process it. I suspect that you are sending binary data over the serial port. If so, it would be better to use the FREAD command. -Dave Tarkowski On Wed, 21 Apr 2004 01:41:31 +0000 (UTC), Raghu Nandan wrote: > > Scenario: i am currently doing a project on transmission of digital > video images using matlab. what i need to do is to transmit the image > data through the serial port of t...

How does matlab work in this issue ? a matlab principle question
Hello everyone I have an ODE solver computing the temperature every month during a year this script will do the job for j=1:12 [t,T]= ode45(@monthly_solver,tspan,Tic,[],monthly_heat(j),h2(j),); end where Tic is the intial temperature and J loops represents the months Now the question is about matlab principle and how does it work with the initial condition? i mean as the last temperature of the 1st month is the begining temperture of the 2nd month and the last temp. of the 2nd month is the begining temp. of the 3rd month and so on. matlab compiler, matlab path, expanded ctf issues
Dear All: If anyone has used the matlab compiler I would appreciate some help. I make a very simple test case test.m: function test fprintf('Hello world\n'); test2 And test2.m: function test2 fprintf('2Hello world\n'); I do mcc -m test Run it runs beautifully. Now, same thing, move test2.m somewhere on matlab path. test still runs in matlab. I do mcc -m test, and get error: misha@misha-d630:~/Montague Lab/code$ ./test This MATLAB file does not have proper version information and may be corrupt. The file '/home/misha/Montague/matlab/test2.m' is no...

MATLAB Java Socket Data Transfer Issues
I'm having issues with transferring data between two computers in MATLAB. I'm using the Java socket class to establish the connection. In typical usage, the MATLAB GUI will connect to the same target IP on two different ports (through a network switch of course). In this case, data transfer is 100% reliable. I have a new case where I need the GUI to connect to target IP 1 on a certain port, and target IP 2 (a second computer) on another port. Essentially I'm sending data to one computer and receiving data from another computer. Whenever I connect in this way, I can only sen...

display Electroencephalography data on Matlab via Oracle
Could I access/display Electroencephalography data on Matlab user interface via Oracle database. issues involved in moving from MATLAB 5.3 (Release 11.0) to MATLAB 6.0.
Hi, I,ve found the reason for a problem I had (and posted last week), passing from M 5.3 to 6. In "Programming and Data Types Issues" I found that: "Attempting to assign a structure to a field of another structure now results in an error if both of the following conditions are true: The field being assigned to has been initialized to an empty matrix. The field being assigned to is referenced in the assignment using an array index. For example, mystruct.emptyfield = []; mystruct.emptyfield(1) = struct('f1', 25); ??? OpenGL display of data processed in real time in Matlab
I am working on a computer vision problem of tracking points in 3D. My program determines the 3D position of tracked points in a scene, which I would like to display in an OpenGL window. I have spent the past few hours looking for a way to accomplish this. Originally, I thought I might make a program using MEX and OpenGL that Matlab could call, but I cannot set up even a basic program to do that. I was attempting to follow this advice: http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/psychtoolbox/message/11067 Is it possible to create an OpenGL MEX program? I don't know how to point Matlab to my Op...

MATLAB GUI, display changing numerical data from simulink
Hi there, I'm currently trying to continuously change the value of a static textbox in a MATLAB gui. Basically, i'm running a Simulink model and i want to display the numerical output (while it changes) in the GUI. I've searched online for a solution to this and can't find one. As i understand it, there's no looping code behind the GUI so it won't continuously update on it's own. Is there a way to bypass this? I have managed to change the static text by initiating a callback using a pushbutton but i want it to be automatic and continuous. Thanks in advance. ...

Calling Compiled MATLAB from MATLAB
Hello everyone, How do I compile MATLAB M files into a form that can then be called from within the MATLAB interpreter? A roundabout way would seem to be to (somehow) Turn the matlab code into C (I think mcc does this), then compile this C code into MEX format and call that. Is there an easier way? I have the MATLAB compiler, so I just need to know what to do with it to get this to work. Does anybody know a way to convert Matlab code into Fortran and then compile Fortran mex dll file for Matlab 2006a?
Hi all, I want to ask three questions regarding Fortran and Matlab interface. The two tools I am using are: Intel Visual Fortran 10.1 and Matlab 2006a. Q1. What is the best converter to convert Matlab code into Fortran code with readability? My understanding is that Fortran and Matlab are both vectorized and they should be pretty similar and such converter should do a good job. Q2. Is there a wizard for Intel Visual Fortran under MS Visual Studio.Net 2003 or Visual Studio.Net 2005 to set up environments for building mex dll file for Matlab on Windows XP? There is such a wizard tool for VC/C++, which is very convenient, just create a MEX project in Visual Studio and the compiled the result will be a mex dll for use in Matlab. I hope there is a similar tool for Fortran? Q3. Is there a tool to convert the Matlab code into Fortran with readability and then automatically make itself a mex dll? Thanks a lot! MATLAB bug data from a legal customer disappeared from mathworks.com
Hello the MathWorks customers worldwide, We are a legal MathWorks customer. About 20 hours ago our description of a MATLAB bug was present at mathworks.com. MatLab Display
As a new user of MatLab, I am suprised at the rather poor quality of the input and especially the output display of computations. Input is command line only, and the 'pretty' command for output display, while an improvement, still looks hokey, especially with complicated symbolics. Other programs, like Maple, not only display output beautifully in pretty print, but also include equation/matrix writers to help the user get the input correct the first time. For as powerful as MatLab is, I'm rather suprised at this. Is there a reason why this area is neglected? Are there any add-on p...

Matlab bug?

But if I put test.m in C:\ and change current directory into C:\, then it works. What should I do to repair this? weird "help" display results -- possible MATLAB bug
I have a Contents file that does not work correctly when it is displayed using a "help" command or in a help window. I would be satisfied with text and no hyperlink, but I get nothing AT ALL -- just empty white space. When I view the html language for the Contents file, what should be &qu...
