Hello, Can you please help me on the following? I know that the .fig format of MatLab and Xfig are different though have the same endings. Nontheless I would like to convert my pictures from MatLab into Xfig pictures to edit them further - if possible. If it isn't possible, then does someone of you know which (well known) program I can use to draw graphs and convert them into xfig? Is it possible for Mathematica? Kind regards Lena Malinowski Hello Lena, you can use gnuplot to draw graphs (http://www.gnuplot.info/) and save them to xfig FIG files. Or you can use the program pstoedit (...

soft-link (symbolic link) file information on remote linux machine using ftp in Matlab
Hi all I want to read a soft-link file information in a remote linux machine on Matlab 7 environment in local Windows machine. To do this, I connected to the remote linux machine using ftp() command in Matlab and tried to read soft link file using the dir() command. However, the dir() command only read the name of a soft-link file and did not fetch the information about the linked file. --- e.g. Assume the soft link file is as follows: softlink.file -> /temp/data.file Using the dir() command after connecting using ftp() command, the resulting file name was just 'softlink.file'. --- Does anyone knows how the soft-link file information in a remote linux machine can be read in the local Matlab environment? write a tfw file and tiff file with matlab
Is it possible to write *tfw file in Matlab for a tiff figure created in matlab? On Aug 27, 7:26=A0am, "Quintijn " <q.m.vanag...@student.utwente.nl> wrote: > Is it possible to write *tfw file in Matlab for a tiff figure created in = matlab? Huh? What is a TIFF figure? You create a figure, which may have one or more items on it like axes, text, etc. You can save that figure if you want but it's not really a "tiff figure created in matlab." It's just a MATLAB figure until you save it. You can save it in TIFF format I suppose - see the new Tiff class built into MATLAB starting in a recent release. I don't know what a *tfw file is. It is not one of the supported file types of saveas() or imwrite(). A .tfw file is used to georeference a .tif file. The .tfw file provides real world coordinate information that allows a corresponding .tif file to be correctly positioned on a map or in a mapping system. I create a tfw in this way but don't know how to get x-scale and y-scale from the tif figure right. (Cx and CY are center point of the tif figure). Matlabcode: PMx=???; %Line 1: x-scale. This is the horizontal distance in meters represented by each pixel. So in the above example each pixel is .6 meters wide. Ry=0; %Line 2: Rotation about y axis. Rx=0; %Line 3: Rotation about x axis. PMy=-???; %Line 4: y-scale This is the vertical distance in meters repre...

How to Make an M-File EXE File in MatLab
I am currently using R12 of matLab. How can I make an M-File as EXE File? (Anyone can run the EXE File even without MatLab installed in their PC's) What you need is the Matlab Compiler. I understand that the folks in mathworks charge something around the $5000 for it... *BUT* even the compiler, I think, is only supported I in R14. Google "matlab compiler" and see what you'll find. Y. No other way of doing it. That before the thread was deleted. You might have a look at the O-Matrix Development Kit, http://www.omatrix.com/omrte.html. It can be a much more affordable route for creating royalty-free, standalone distributions. Call Matlab m-file from Matlab Scrip Node
My problem with matlab script node is related to calling function in matlab. I created an m-file function that takes an imput temperature (from DAQ) and defines a material property. My matlab script node doesn't seem to recognize my function. I have placed the function in the folder the vi is currently located, but it doesn't read it. How do I get matlab script node to read the functions I create in matlab? Add the directory to matlab path, or call the .m file with it full name ( D:\..... \myfile.m) Let me clarify, I have pasted my matlab code into the matlab scrip node. In this code, I have called a subfunction that I have created. Example k(n)=k_c(T(n)) where k_c is a subfunction I have created. How do I get my code in the node to sucessfully read the subfunction k_c? As indicated, you need to add the directory where the .m file containing the function resides to the list of paths that are read in. This is your startup.m file. The other option is to do a "cd" command prior to calling your function to change to the directory where the .m file containing the function resides. Thanks for reiterating the information. My matlab script node is working properly. I had never used the "cd" command in matlab. I always set the working directory when I open the program, and put all the m files into t...

Using Matlab DLL files
Hello, I've created a DLL file using the Matlab Compiler. I have tested the DLL by calling functions from it through a C executable, so I know it works. I'm having some trouble getting the everything to work in LabView, though. I am using a Call Library Function node to invoke the desired functions in the DLL. When I call the initialize function, mclInitializeApplication succeeds, but the <libraryName>Initialize call fails. From what I can tell, this is because LabView cannot find the CTF file that is used by the Initialize function to create the required support files. What needs to happen so that the DLL can find the CTF file? Thanks, Alex Whitney ...

DICOM in Matlab
Hi, I'm trying to obtain certain information about DICOM images using Matlab. I've been reading about DICOM attributes in order to get the Transformation Matrix ( Rotation + Translation ) to be able to obtain an absolute voxel position from a relative one. According to what i red of The DICOM attribute (0020,0037) "Image Orientation (Patient)", it gives the orientation of the x- and y-axes of the image data in terms of 2 3-vectors.The first vector is a unit vector along the x- axis, and the second is along the y-axis. And the third column of the R matrix gives the direction of displacement (relative to the subject) along the slice-wise direction. This orientation is said not to be encoded in the DICOM standard in a simple way; bacause DICOM is mostly concerned with 2D images. If you have any idea of how to obtain this Transformation matrix i'll appreciate the help.
