I obtain different radically different results from matlab 6.5 to matlab 7.0 that with other models??Any suggestion to avoid this problem???

```Well,I have made several tests and this is the result:
-When I use the function regress in this format in matlab 6.5, it works:
[B1,BINT1,R_X,RINT1,STATS1]=regress(X(2:length(X))',[ones(length(X)-1,1),X(1:length(X)-1)']);

-When I use the same format in matlab 7.0 it doesn't works, but if I use this format:
[B1,BINT1,R_X,RINT1,STATS1]=regress(X(2:length(X))',X(1:length(X)-1)');

It works in matlab 7.0. Then I think the problem is how the function regress treats the independent term in both versions??

```regress is producing different results because it is operating on different
design matrices.

Regress will use this information to  estimate a coefficient for a constant

Your second example doesn't contain a column of ones.
Your new model doesn't include a constant term.
It's not surprising that this will affect the estimates for the other
coefficients.

Incompatible of MAT file for Matlab 6.5.1 and Matlab 7.0
Hi! I have recently installed Matlab 7.0. I have save my simulation results in .MAT file. However, these MAT files can't be opened using Matlab 6.5.1. I encountered problem as follows: ??? embedded matlab function MATLAB R2009a
I downloaded the MS visual C++ 2008 Express Edition and the SDK as detailed in http://www.mathworks.com/support/solutions/en/data/1-6IJJ3L/?solution=1-6IJJ3L My embedded function didnt work at the beginning because I did "mex -setup" before I installed my SDK. But after I installed the SDK, I ran "mex -setup" in Matlab once again and choose the MS visual C++2008 as my compiler. Then, my embedded matlab function worked. Write a MATLAB function computing the product of two arbitrary matrices A, B which are input parameters of your function. In case the sizes of input matrices do not allow to compute the matrix product, provide the corresponding message about the error. You are NOT allowed to use the MATLAB way of multiplication of matrices by simply writing A*B. You will need to write your OWN code to compute the matrix product! Licensing question 5.0.4 - 5.0.6
We need to upgrade a backup server from 5.0.4 to 5.0.6 (same as live server). Our supplier told us that a base pack upgrade for 5.0.6 is not available and we would have to have 5.0.7. This version of Sco is not certified compatible with our server. Does anyone know if we can install 5.0.7 licences on 5.0.6? Also it feels like the supplier is telling stories to force us into buying a new server. Does anyone know if 5.0.6 base packs are available? SNOPT 7.2-4 in Matlab 7.8.0.347
Hello all, I'm attempting to use SNOPT 7.2-4 in Matlab 7.8.0.347 (r2009a) 64-bit (glnxa64) through the mex-file interface that can optionally be compiled along with the rest of the source code. Matlab is running on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.8. I compiled SNOPT with gcc v. 4.1.2 and g77 v. 3.4.6; also with gcc 3.4.6. In either case the compilation goes fine. When running the included examples in SNOPT (via the "runAllExamples" m-file), I get back the SNOPT-specific error message: Error using ==> snoptcmex Line is too long to be printed Error in ==> snspec at 11 inform = snoptcmex( snoption, filename ); Error in ==> t1diet at 6 snspec ( t1diet.spc ); Error in ==> runAllExamples at 10 [x,xmul,F,Fmul,info] = t1diet; Tracing this error back through the source code, it would appear that somewhere along the line the length of a string buffer exceeds 140 characters, which throws up this error. I can't figure out why or how to fix it. Incidentally, a naive change in the length of the allowed buffer to something larger than 140 characters either has no effect or throws up a segmentation violation, without any particular reason for one behavior or the other so far as I can tell. A very niche question that's not necessarily Matlab-specific; but hopefully someone out there has had a similar problem and can point me in the right direction. Thanks, Luke ...

Is this a BUG of Matlab 7.0?
I am using Matlab to do one of my project. The Matlab version is 7.0.019920(R14),May 06,2004. However, I find a problem occurred when running a program I coded before, which was executed perfect under previous version - Matlab 6.5. The small example below can demonstrate the problem: type codes: alpha=[0.1:0.1:0.9]; A=eye(1000,1000); A(alpha*1000,1) The error will occur and the message says: "??? Subscript indices must either be real positive integers or logicals." I checked the problem and found the reason is that the alpha(3)*1000 is not 300 (which should be the correct answer). Instead, by using 'format long', the alpha(3)*1000 will be 3.000000000000001e+002. This will lead to that error. if we use for I=1:9 alpha(I)=I; end the problem still exist. I had to type alpha=[0.1,0.2,0.3,0.4,0.5,0.6,0.7,0.8,0.9] to avoid this problem. if I change to alpha=[0.01:0.01:0.09] then A(alpha*10000,1) will have the same problem. But this time the problem will occur in the alpha(7). alpha(7)*10000 will not be 700, but 6.999999999999999e+002 I tried this example in two different computers, and it gave the same results. So, I think this maybe a BUG of Matlab 7.0 since the same problem will not occur in Matlab 6.5. SATA on 5.0.6 or 5.0.7?
Anyone running SCO 5.0.6 or 5.0.7 on servers with SATA drives? I'd like to hear from anyone with SATA based servers and if they met their exceptions for performance and reliability. In the past, I have always used SCSI drives for the performance and customary 5 year warrantee. Now SATA drives are available with 5 year warrantee and manufactures claim the drives are equivalent to SCSI performance at 40% less cost. I have checked my distributors and all the SATA drives I can find are 7200 RPM with the exception of the 36G WD360GD 10k RPM SATA drive. I have a request from a client running SCO 3.2v4.2 on 66 MHz 486 with 4G disk to upgrade to current hardware and OS. SCSI is overkill for this client and the 36G WD looks like a good choice. I'll eliminate all SCSI by using Backup Edge writing to a ATAPI DVD-RAM and upgrade the client to 5.0.6 or 5.0.7 (SCO's web site suggests it has upgrades to Enterprise 6.0 from Xenix/UNIX but there is no part number listed and inquiries come up: Not Available). -- Steve Fabac S.M. difference in nftool results-matlab and excel

Matlab FFT function does not give the correct result
Hi, I am trying to plot my signal(sum of two sines of different frequencies in the the frequency domain using FFT function of matlab. The magnitude plot -> y_mag = real(fft(x,N) is giving correct result. But the phase plot -> y_phase = imag(fft(x,N)); is not giving correct result..... Can someone help me..? You make an error when you resp. compute the magnitude and the phase of your fft using the real and imaginary part of it. I did a simple excel macro which runs matlab functions sucessfully in a machine with Matlab installed. Now I want to run it in a computer without matlab, with "MATLAB Compiler Run Time" installed. Call Matlab m-file from Matlab Scrip Node
My problem with matlab script node is related to calling function in matlab.&nbsp; I created an m-file function that takes an imput temperature (from DAQ) and defines a material property.&nbsp; My matlab script node doesn't seem to recognize my function.&nbsp; I have placed the function in the folder the vi is currently located, but it doesn't read it.&nbsp; How do I get matlab script node to read the functions I create in matlab?
