eye diagram in MATLAB

I'm doing a project on eye diagram. the experimental effect of eye
pattern due to channel noise and bandwidth limitation. The problem is
at the bandwidth limitation part. I'm using a Butterworth filter and
the problem is to combine the output of the butterworth filter to the
eye diagram. Can anyone help me? The function i'm using is 
n = 25
W = 0.975
[b,a] = butter(n,W)
