fourier phase/amp

  • Follow

Hello,
Probably a simple question for fourier-experts, but I am not familiar with it and have troubles with finding/understanding the different formulas..

How to calculate the amplitudes (a0/ak)/phase shift of the different cosine waves to reconstruct a signal based on the principal FFT components (1:k) with the following formula?

Y = a0 + ak*cos(2*pi*k*t+phase)

Thanks a lot,
Ruben

Hi Ruben, the complex-valued DFT coefficients contain the amplitude and phase information needed for signal reconstruction.
