Get Rid of Duplicate Impoint Labels

Hello,

I'm trying to find a way to delete duplicate Impoint labels. I am using a PoisitonCallback that looks like this for all of my impoints...

Defined as:

h.addNewPositionCallback(@(pos) update_coords(h,pos(1),pos(2)));

function update_coords(h,x1,y1)
global coords points ctrl;
for i=1:size(points,2)
    coords(i,:) = getPosition(points(i));
end
set(ctrl, 'XData', coords(:,1), 'YData', coords(:,2));
setString(h,['(',num2str(x1),',',num2str(y1),')']);
end

This is on an axis in a GUI. The problem here is that when the impoint is dragged the position is correctly updated in the label, however the previous label does not go away. Thus after dragging the point around the label is correct but there are 200 labels on all over the axis! I have tried drawnow and drawnow expose to no avail. Is there anyway I can redraw the axis to get rid of all these prior labels. If I leave out the setString() from the callback function this no longer happens, but that is not useful to me.

Any help is much appreciated, thanks,
- Ryan

Getting rid of duplicates
I have a table, TEST_TABLE, with 6 columns (COL1, COL2, COL3, COL4, COL5, COL6).... I need to be able to select all columns/rows where COL3, COL4, and COL5 are unique.... I have tried using DISTINCT and GROUP BY, but both will only allow me to access columns COL3, COL4, and COL5..... i need access to all columns...I just want to get rid of duplicate rows (duplicates of COL3, COL4, and COL5)... Thanks in advance. Joe If a row is duplicated on (col3, col4, col5) which values do you want for col1 and col2? Here's some example data: CREATE TABLE Sometable (col1 INTEGER NOT NULL, col2 INTEGER NOT NULL, col3 INTEGER NOT NULL, col4 INTEGER NOT NULL, col5 INTEGER NOT NULL /* PRIMARY KEY ??? */) INSERT INTO Sometable VALUES (1,2,3,4,5) INSERT INTO Sometable VALUES (2,1,3,4,5) If you don't care which values go into col1 and col2: SELECT MIN(col1) AS col1, MIN(col2) AS col2, col3, col4, col5 FROM Sometable GROUP BY col3, col4, col5 If you want just one row from the table for each value of (col3, col4, col5): SELECT MIN(S1.col1) AS col1, S1.col2, S1.col3, S1.col4, S1.col5 FROM Sometable AS S1 JOIN (SELECT MIN(col2) AS col2, col3, col4, col5 FROM Sometable GROUP BY col3, col4, col5) AS S2 ON S1.col2 = S2.col2 AND S1.col3 = S2.col3 AND S1.col4 = S2.col4 AND S1.col5 = S2.col5 GROUP BY S1.col2, S1.col3, S1.col4, S1.col5 Try out one of these two queries. Try to maintain a distinction between the design of your data set and the designs of reports you need to produce. You need a value of SERIAL in each and every observation. If order is important for the DESCRIPTION values, and alphabetical order is not right, you need to explicitly specify that order in a separate variable. Here is your data set design: data need; input serial $ desc_order description $6.; cards; 10001 1 yes 10001 2 no 10001 3 may be 10001 4 he 10001 5 she 10001 6 them 1002 1 yes 1002 2 no 1002 3 may be 1002 4 he 1002 5 she ...

Tom, I agree with Howard that you really ought to reconsider your database design. However, that said, here is a way to do what I think you want: data have (drop=last_serial); infile cards missover; retain last_serial; input @1 serial $5. @11 description $6.; if serial eq last_serial then call missing(serial); if not(missing(serial)) then last_serial=serial; cards; 10001 yes no may be 10001 he she them 1002 yes no may be 1002 he she them ; HTH, Art ---------- On Wed, 11 Jun 2008 19:52:04 -0400, Tom Smith <need_sas_help@YAHOO.COM> wrote: >I have a dataset as below: > >serial description >---------------------- >10001 yes > no > may be >10001 he > she > them >1002 yes > no > may be >1002 he > she > them > >How can I get rid of additions duplicate values for the same serial? >I need only one serial number ( can not do grouping it messes uo the order) >as below > >serial description >---------------------- >10001 yes > no > may be > he > she > them >1002 yes > no > may be > he > she > them > >Thanks a lot. ...

get rid of the white space around matlab's SUBFIGURE

That is, when I 'eps' and 'pdf' the subfigures, I don't want the subfigure to take more area than the 'actual' plot itself. Also, is it possible to get rid of the gaps after I have plotted the figure? or do I have to set up the figure's dimensions first and then plot it on top? I hope I explained my question clearly. Get rid of the title
I have a syntax which, when run, generates a IGRAPH for every subject I have (actually two graphs per subject). In the output file each IGRAPH gets a separate title which simply states "Interactive Graph". As having this title a few dozen times is redundant, I wondered whether I can put a command in my syntax to prevent SPSS from generating this title ... or, if this is not possible, maybe I could change it to something more sensible, again automated within the syntax? Thanks in advance! Cheers, Matthias If you want to get rid of this in the right hand side of the Viewer (rather than in the outline pane), you can suppress it with OMS. Here is an example. OMS select headings/if command='igraph'/destination viewer=no. <your igraph commands> OMSEND. "Interactive graph" will still appear in the outline, because it is the root for the Igraph output, but you won't see it in the main output. To get rid of it also in the outline would require an autoscript to promote the items below it and then delete it. HTH Jon Peck SPSS ...

Getting rid of warnings
Hello all, I usually try to get my code clean enough so that no warnings remain at compile time. So I'm annoyed by the 2 following warnings which I can't get rid of. Suggestions (in the form of code rewrite or #pragma) are welcome. Exemple 1: #define MAX_TRACES 100 int NbTraces=0; // Set somewhere else in the program void F(void) { int i, Idx[MAX_TRACES]; for (j=0; j<MAX_TRACES; j++) Idx[j]=0; // Doesn't change anything for (j=0; j<MAX_TRACES; j++) GetSomething(&Idx[j]); for (j=0; j<NbTraces; j++) i = Idx[j]; } The last line gives me: Warning: Local 'Idx' might not have been fully initialized. Obviously NbTraces<MAX_TRACES and anyway I fill up the Idx array with 0, so what is it complaining about ? Example 2: #define ADD(Frmt) { \ if (NULL==strchr(Frmt, '%')) sprintf(DimName, "%s/" Frmt, Server.Name);\ else sprintf(DimName, "%s/" Frmt, Server.Name, Port); ADD("Something"); ADD("SomePort%d"); The first add gives me: DimPpcServer.c:1126: warning: too many arguments for format And the 2nd one: DimPpcServer.c:1130: warning: too few arguments for format I understand the reason (the expansion of "%s/Something" on the 2nd line of the macro has an extra argument). Getting rid of my PowerServer 340
I am cleaning out my study, and one of the machines I've not used in years is my IBM PowerServer 340 (32MHz). I'm loath to throw it away, so if there is someone who wants to come and fetch it (or pay for shipping - PayPal is OK) within a reasonable timeframe, I'd be happy to give it away. Off-topic but it might be interesting for collectors (which I have ceased to be :(, I've also got an sgi Octane, a DEC PWS 500au, an HP C160 and a Sun Ultra 60 that are looking for a new home. I'll hold on to my venerable Cromemco C10 (Z80/CPM) even though the 5.25" floppies have died and I lost the special stackable cable - it still runs and can be used as a serial terminal :). I'm located in one of the smallest countries of Europe - Luxembourg, meaning shipping to the US could be expensive. Please contact me at Stefaan dot Eeckels at ecc dot lu if you're interested. Getting rid of the event handling
I was wondering if there was a way to work around the event driven nature of VB. Basically I have some code that automates Excel and hence I really do not need a button to be pressed for this purpose. Would be grateful for any help. Add a BAS Module to your program (Project/AddModule on VB's menu), put Sub Main() ' ' Your code goes here ' End Sub in the module you just added, remove the default Form (right-click its entry in the Project window and select Remove Form1), and change the Startup Object to Sub Main (General tab on the dialog box that pops up when you click Project/Properties in VB's menu). In project properties you will find a startup specification which is normally "frmMain&qu...
