Change units on plot x axis
I have a plot combining a function and data over days; I would like
to switch the x axis from days to months (of 30 days). Can this be
done without recoding the data and function? Ie, can it be done using
a command that alters axes? "help plot" shows that an "axes" option
exists but I cannot find help for it.

can you tell me how to change the gap width between
each point on the Ptolemy linegraph?
like when I do
addPoint(1, 0, 1, false);
addPoint(1, 1, 1, false);
I want to set the gap between each point to be 10
pixels wide, how do to do that?

I have a small problem when using axis scaling ratio commands, e.g. setting 'dataAspectRatio', or using axis equal + axis tight.
After setting the desired ratios, I need to determine the precise position (extent) of the axis in the figure window, e.g. using get(gca,'position').
However, the position values returned still correspond to the "unscaled" axes, which suggests Matlab is rescaling the visible axis lengths without changing the underlying axis position property.
The following provides a fairly minimalist example:

I am plotting a simple function as follows:
ezplot(2^x, [-10, 10]);
Is it possible to make the X and Y axis to display in a standard way (passing my the origin).
I would also like to display: an arrow at the end of each axis; a X, Y and O character in near the X axis arrow, Y axis arrow and origin.
And finally the function expression, 2^x, near the function line.
Basically I am using Matlab to create a few charts to my students but I would like to do it in this more standard way (for them).
I am plotting a figure in Matlab. The range is from -4e6 to +4e6. So one axis has the ticks -4, -3... 1 2 3 4 and then a 'x 10^6' at the top of the axis. I would like to add a unit to the 'x 10^6' such that it reads 'x 10^6m' but I can't find out how to do it. When a add a figure label, it places the label text far away from the scientific notation.

I want plot y axis value according to change of x axis value.
in the below site, value change according to change of x value.

There are so many graphs on your lin...one line only, change x axis from number to words, and change keys into points of the line?
I searched the manual but not find the following answers.
I want to draw a one line chat, with different points related with the
time of each experiments.
x axis is exp1, exp2, exp3, exp4, exp5, and
y axis is the time.
I know how to set y axis, but my questions are:
how can I change x axis from number 1-5 into words like "exp1",
"exp2", "exp3", "exp4", "exp5".
Since there is only one line, I want the legend (keys) to be the
points of the line, not each line, how can I do that?

I have to plot x and y

when i am plotting, in the plot axis comes like
x = 2,4,6,8,10
y = 20000,40000,60000,80000,100000
can i get the axis like
x = 10^(-3), 10^(-2),10^(-1)...

Do you mean something other than changing the document's units to imperial
before doing the SaveAs? To do that automatically, you'd need a macro.

I'm making a contour plot of an array that contains only z values
(heights) using contour(array). Contour marks the x and y axes simply
with the array's row and column number (integers).
The array is actually a black and white image from a camera. Is there
an easy way to change the contour plot's axes to, say, feet or
meters? I.E. is there a way to multiply the plot axes by a scale
I'm not interested in going back to all my data files and adding that
information in. I'd rather scale them when they're plotted.

Hello to everyone, I find a nice way to plot in a table my vectors:
x=[0.25 0.5 0.75 1.00]
y=[0.25 0.5 0.75 1.00]
z= [27 95 74 37; 89 35 55 40; 79 72 30 39; 43 46 41 3]
I did it with:
h=imagesc(x,y,z)...but my problem is that i need to put tick marks at 0.25 0.5 0.75 and 1, i.e at the middle of every square,
because by default it is as: 0.2 0.3 0.4 0.5 0.6 0.7 0.8 0.9 1 1.1...any help?
Thanks in advance.
