how to read a dicom serie 3D

Hi, 
I have a DICOM serie 3D that i try to read. how can i do exactly because i try to use dicomread command but i don't know why i have errors. I need to extract a region of interest 3D from this dicom serie to use for the enhancement process and i don't know how can i do?
Please if someone have any idea about these requests, it is possible to give me answer
