Hi all
Motherboard of my computer does not have LPT port, but I use it a lot
to pass control rotation of step motors and to control some
experimental setup.
So, I have obtained LPT port using a PCI card of following type:
CH353SSP-SOPQ803.
I can use this LPT port to print documents by some printers without
problems.
Newertheless, when I try to initialize LPT adapter by following command
parport = digitalio('parallel','LPT1');
I have warning and error messages:
Warning: This Parallel adaptor ('parallel') will not be provided in
future releases of Data Acquisition Toolbox. Instead, it will be
available as a separate download. See Solution 1-5LI9OA for details.
??? Error using ==> digitalio.digitalio at 115
Failure to open requested data acquisition device.
Nevertheless, following line gives:

According opinion of Matlab' developers there no solution (at least, for the moment) if one use LPT port that is done by some PCI card or USB unit. So, solution is to change your computer to one that has build LPT port.
This is very pity because LPT port is very convenient and useful for PC communications with outer world. Let users ask Matlab team to reanimate support of such LPT ports!
