MatLab database problem~to get integer values instead of floating-point values Hi All,
I met a problem when programming a simple database application at
As you see the following code,
SELECT query would two data (base_dt and sum(rtn) ) from database.
one (base_dt column) is date-format.
the other ( sum(rtn) column ) is floating-point value.
but when running the following code, the second field is returned to be
integer instead of floating-point value.
the first field is what i expected : date format
In my thought, problem is related with the functions in query.
I failed to solve this problem by "setdbprefs".

Problems cloning a database/database instance Hi,
I'm running Oracle 9i on a Win2K Server, and I've been trying to follow
a procedure for cloning a database ("TEST") as shown here:
Eventually, if I can get past "Step 1", I actually want to clone both
the database and the database instance, to set up a test environment.
But, I'm having problems just getting past "Step 1".
The first problem that I've run into is that the steps indicate that I
should edit the .trc file that gets created by the ALTER DATABASE. But,
Matlab problem!! Dear All
I hope that you are doing well and everything is OK.
I have a question, please:
I have a decimal number stored in a matrix. For example,
Matrix subscripts: 1 2 3 5 6 7 8 9
Values: 8 9 8 7 7 9 9 2
So, the number is: 898779927
My matrix consists of 3000 cells and each cell contains a number from
0-9. I need to get the number of bits for this string in binary.
However, I cannot convert it to binary as the program will give me out
Thanks and your response will be much appreciated.

problem with Matlab 2009b The problem is in formatting the legend of a plot.
Since, I usually include my plots into a LaTex document I format the legend to become ``latex interpretable''. This used to work fine but now the text (which doesn't contain any unusual characters) within the legend disappears!?
Can anyone help?

Problems with Matlab figures Hello,
A few months ago my computer support team upgraded my Linux, and since then Matlab has not been running properly. It basically refuses to plot figures which are larger than a certain size, or to plot surfaces with a transparency. I contacted Matlab and they say it is a problem with my computer, but my computer support team has no idea what the problem is. I thought it could be a memory issue and even as a last resort suggested reverting to the older version of Linux, but I was ignored.
Has anyone else come across this problem?

Matlab Classes problem I've created a class, see below. However calling SetTotals only seems to modify a copy of the members - so outside the scope of the function, they have not changed. Surely it must be possible to modify the member data in a function call? How do i do it?
function obj = TestClass()
obj.total1 = 1;
obj.total2 = 2;
function this = SetTotals(this, newvalue1, newvalue2)
this.total1 = newvalue1;
this.total2 = newvalue2;
LMI Problem in MatLab Hello,
I'm sort of a new user to MATLAB and am in need of help. I'd
appreciate any advice anyone could give me. My problem is as
In the steady space dx/dt=(a-b*f)x by using the LMI method, I want to

How can define the LMI in MATLAB and solve for it.
Thanks in advance.
problem with Matlab script Hello,
I have a Matlab script where an algorithm calculate an integration of function and I can't indertand what it's doing.
So is here someone hwo can help me pleaze.
you find here the algorithm, and note that IOTA is a line vector which the length is the same as the vector xQ
sqrt2 = sqrt(2);
sqrtsqrt2 = sqrt(sqrt2);
N = 500;
Q = 10;
DeltaQ = 0.001;
xQ = (-Q:DeltaQ:Q)*sqrt2;
P = 2;
Ratio = 50; % Should be an integer
DeltaP = Ratio*DeltaQ;
xP = (-P:DeltaP:P)*sqrt2;
LengthP = length(xP);
LengthQ = length(xQ);
AmbiguityIOTAP = zeros(LengthP, LengthP);
Indext = -(LengthP+1)/2;

Matlab Engineering Problem Hi I’m creating an m file to demonstrate a closed loop
block diagram using Euler’s explicit method, the transfer
function of the control (operator) is expressed as:
KC. e-LCs . (1+ 1 +TDs)
Which represents the gain(Kc)*a timedelay(Lc) and a first
order lag (Tc)*The PID controller. I can work out what to
do if the transfer function was represented as:
KC. (1+ 1 +TDs)
As Kc would = arbitrary value and Ki = Kc*dt/Tr; Kd =
Kc*Td/dt; (dt being a step lenth) however I’m not sure how
to work in the a timedelay(Lc) and a first order ...

No such problem about transparency is mentioned. Moreover, I have also done everything that has been said in the previous post. Can anyone kindly tell me as to what is the problem with my code...
