image acquisition from usb cameras and matlab
Hello, My image processing environment consists of a USB camera and MATLAB. I do have the image processing toolbox. I would like to hear from other people who have done image acquisition in matlab from usb cameras. What are the issues they have encountered? Can you share some tips/tricks/suggestions? My previous acquisition experience has been with traditional framegrabbers (Bitflow, ImageNation, etc) and C++. The MATLAB environment is kind of new to me. Thanks in advance, -harsh I use a USB camera too. The help library of the toolbox is quite good. I just follow the steps they suggest...

Camera works with Image acquisition Toolbox
Hi, i'm trying to record the vision through a camera, and then synchronized the movie with sound and vibration. So I need to keep the camera working in the constant framerate. Could anyone suggest me a list of brands or types of camera compatible with the Image Acquisition Toolbox, and also we can control the camera during the whole recording to let it work in a constant framerate? Changing resolution for Camera with Image Acquisition Toolbox
I have a web camera that when I run "Amcap" it shows a 640x480 video image and lets you change sizes, but when I use Image Processing/Acquisition Toolbox using vid = videoinput('winvideo',1); preview(vid); get(vid); shows only a 320x240 video image and no configurable parameters to change it. Why would one show 640x480 while the other runs only at 320x240? Image Acquisition Toolbox for Matlab 2008 x64?
Hi all. Correct me if I'm wrong but it seems there is no release of the Image Acquisition Toolbox for 64-bit release of Matlab for Windows. Am I wrong? Also, do you think there is a point of having two versions of Matlab (on one PC), one of which is 32 bit and another 54? Cheers. Hi all. how to get the camera handler in image acquisition toolbox adaptor?
I am working on the development of a customised image acquisition toolboc adaptor. I have device's SDK(uEye camera SDK). Any image acquisition starts from getting the camera handler by the function: HIDS m_hCam = (HIDS) 0; is_InitCamera(&m_hCam, m_hWndDisplay); ,where m_hCam is the type of "void *". If there is only one camera linking to the computer, Matlab will crash when typing command "preview". But, if I have two cameras connected, then it is fine. So, I guess the first camera is being locked by the adaptor itself. I fail to gain the access to...

MATLAB Image Acquisition not changing Logitech camera exposure
Dear All: First, I would like to thank Dave Tarkowski for his comments. However the problem is still there. Image Acquisition Toolbox will not work with Matlab Runtime Compiler
Hello I am having trouble using the Image Acquisition Toolbox with the Matlab Runtime Compiler. In summary the whole Image Acquisition Toolbox does not seem to be properly packaged. I am using Matlab 2008b, the Image Acquisition Toolbox is version V3.2. and the MCR 4.9. I can have MCR programs running using other toolboxes (communications and signal processing) but not the Image Acquisition Toolbox. The compiler does do something with the toolbox because the *.ctf file increase in size by 1.8MB when Acquisition functions are included. A large part of this increase is from the imaqadapto...

Win7 64-bit Matlab crashing when using image acquisition toolbox
Greetings, I've just started to attempt to get a Bitflow Karbon-CL frame grabber to interface with Matlab. I downloaded bitflows dll file from their homepage and ran the following Matlab commands: imaqregister ('C:\BitFlow\MATLAB\WIN64\BitFlow.dll','register') vidobj = videoinput('bitflow',1); and then matlab just crashes without any error boxes appearing. I looked in the event viewer and saw a Matlab application error: Faulting application name: MATLAB.exe, version: 1.0.0.1, time stamp: 0x4b54ec91 Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 6.1.7600.16695...

Matlab image acquisition...
Hi, I am building a robot with image acquisition, but I cannot figure out how to keep my webcam on all the time. I would like for the webcam to take a picture, say, every 2 seconds and save the image to a file that will then be analyzed. The way I have it setup now using getsnapshot(vid), the camera has to initialize first, take the snapshot, then save the image, and then the webcam turns off. The next time I have to take a picture, it starts from scratch. This makes the processing time increase dramatically. If there is a way to keep the camera on at all times, and just pick a specific frame...

I can't get the number of images I setted when I use image acquisition toolbox
Hello, everyone. Now I use image acquisition toolbox. I want save images to harddisk. If I set vid.FramesPerTrigger as 50 and vid.TriggerRepeat as zero ,I could get 50 images in the avi file which I have set before in theory. If I do this in command line,it is right. But if I do this in GUI ,the number of images I get is less than 50 and it is not equal everytime . If I set vid.FramesPerTrigger as 50 and vid.TriggerRepeat as 9,then I can get 500 images in theory but the number I get is less than 500 and it is not equal everytime when I do this both in command line and GUI.I don't know why. ...

Image Acquisition Toolbox #6
Hi all, I own a Panasonic Digital Video camera (NV-DS29B)and have connected it to my laptop via a firewire connection. Through the Image Acquisition Toolbox (IAT) I have acquired video from the camera using the 'Winvideo' driver (the camera did not come with any of its own drivers). The IAT is good for controlling the acquisiton once the scene has been set-up on the camera. I would, however, like to be able to control other functions on the camera from my laptop. Is it possible to control camera functions like the powered zoom lens through the IAT - the remote control supplied with ...
