I have a stand-alone exe made with MATLAB R2009b and Windows XP SP2.
This ran successfully in Window XP, but failed to run in Windows 7.

I installed MCR v711 on the Windows 7 computer.
When I ran the .exe, I got the error (read in cmd window):

Fatal error loading library C:\Program files <x86>\..\v711\bin\win32\mclmcr.dll
Error: The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect.

Please help.

I had this same problem, and what fixed it was installing the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable.

Fedora: fail Mint: fail OpenSuse: fail Ubuntu: fail Windows 7: success Windows Vista: success
"All current Linux versions I've tried with new kernels simply won't install at all, the install fails virtually before it even starts. Ubuntu 9.10 (2.6.31), 10.04, Fedora, Mint, OpenSuse, all fail. Just some CD activity and then they stop with a blank screen. Although Suse gets further, with a screen of coloured blocks. It must be a bug they have introduced in later kernels. My hardware is very standard, although I do see other people have problems with the ASUS P5Q series. Windows 7, Vista needless to say install and work flawlessly. Windows 8 Vaporware -- Highlights Windows 7 failings
It seems that Microsoft accidentally leaked goals for Windows 8. Obviously Microsoft is hoping it can use the vaporware gambit to somehow retain the loyalty of OEMs to an "All Microsoft" solution for their laptops and desktops. From aled.html <quote> Included in these presentations is a rather telling (but obvious) slide which shows that Microsoft is clearly paying attention to Apple while planning Windows 8. Some Arabic letters fail in Windows Vista & Windows 7
My observation refers to Windows Vista and Windows 7, but not to other operating systems. The Urdu letter U+06BB =DA=BB=DA=BB=DA=BB does not join in Courier New. The Pashto letter U+06D0 =DB=90=DB=90=DB=90 does not join in Courier New and not in Times New Roman. The display of both letters in Arial and Tahoma is correct. Choose Arial or Tahoma or Times New Roman as your Western Latin typeface in your browser. I'm aski...

What if Windows 7 fails too?
Since Windows 7 is nothing more than a re-hashed and re-packaged version of Windows Vista, there's a real chance that it too will fail miserably in the marketplace. What will Microsoft do if Windows 7 fails to entice businesses and consumers? Will they quickly gear up another re-hashed version and call it Windows 8? Will they try to come-up with a new version of Windows XP? Will they simply curl up and die somewhere? The latter is obviously the best option IMHO, so Linux can reign supreme forever. Windows 7 .... BIG FAIL!
begin{quote} What features? by mickrussom on Thu 22nd Oct 2009 22:11 UTC Took away Ultimate Extras, changed the control panel, moved simple stuff like printers around, changed the start menu and forcing the new start menu on people, and all the dumb things like UAC are still dumb. Its Vista Service Pack 3, with forced changes (no Classic start menu), it will piss of IT organizations again, it really didn't add anything new, in fact, it took things away. This is more or less another big disappointment. Its money for an effective service pack. It makes forced changes to appeal to t...

MCR on Windows 7 64bit
I've compiled my program in Matlab 2011a Windows 64-bit: mcc -C -m myprogram.m It produced the exe and the ctf files just fine. When I try to run myprogram.exe on the target machine, I get the following error: "Could not find version 7.15 of the MCR. Attenmpting to load mclmcrrt7_15.dll." USB Driver failing for windows 7
Hi, Hi, Please excuse me if this is not the right group for this post.I have a usb host client driver which works fine on windows Xp as well as windows vista but it causes an operating system hang on windows 7.The initial exchange happens correctly, device descriptors, configuration and interface descriptors are all got from the connected device without a glitch but as soon as a bulk transfer is initiated the system crashes. The exact point of the crash is when my driver passes an Irp for IOCTL_INTERNAL_USB_SUBMIT_URB (bulk / interrupt transfer) to lower drivers using IoCallDriver...

compiled program failing to start on Windows 7
I have created a 32bit deployable windows app and installed it on a Pentium 4 based PC upgraded to Windows 7 (32bit). The MCR appears to install fine, but the executable fails to run with no messages whatsoever. It works fine on other computers including a 32 bit Windows 7 virtual machine on my 64 bit Win 7 PC. Any ideas? The second issue is that on anything but the latest PC's the MCR startup is often painfully slow, again with no indication that anything is happening. Again any comments welcome. Thanks Peter ...

Database Configuration Assistant fails to load on Windows 2000
I was wondering if somebody could help me out. A few weeks back I installed Oracle on Windows 2000 SP4. Everything went well and my database has been just fine. Today I needed to put up a new instance, and so went into the start menu, found the Database Configuration Assistant and click on the icon. For a split second my icon gets an hourglass indidcating something is happening and then nothing. It reminds me of an issue I had with 8i and Pentium 4s but alas I am finding no information online to help me resolve this. Just FYI, the is only one home and is the only vers...

Windows XP fails to boot after Drive Image 7 restore
