### minima and maxima

```I have differentiated a function using diff(f) and I get 3*x^2+6*x-(30)/(x^4). How do I use matlab to find minima and maxima. I assume when I let x=0 and in this case minima=maxima=0? I am not sure how to let x =0 in the above equation using matlab?

Hi Mario, I'm assuming that you are using the Symbolic Math Toolbox and did something like

x=sym('x');
Df=diff(x^3+3*x^2+10*x^(-3));

If that is the case, then look at the help for solve()
