Hi. I am using Matlab 2008b on Ubuntu 9.10 (amd64). When I highlight a selection of code in the editor and hit F9 the code does not evaluate. If I right-click and select "evaluate selection" then it does. Why is the F9 key now working and how can I re-enable it?
Thanks!

Dear Ken
I am having the same problem. Did you finally find a solution?
Cheers

I did find a solution but I can not remember exactly what it was. I think it was to go to Files > Preferences > Keyboard and then (depending on the version) choose "Windows" command key bindings.

Dear Ken and Nancy
I have the impression that the F9 problem relates to the shortcuts set by Ubuntu and I am pretty sure that an experienced Linux user can solve this. Well I am not!
Setting the keyboard shortcuts to Windows layout (from Matlab Preferences) did not work for me. What I did was to change the shortcut for 'evaluate selection' to F7, instead of F9. It is not exactly a solution but a good workaround.
I hope this helps
Michalis
