The problem is that some c++ objects are not properly defined. One would
like to call routines bbbb::ccccc. But that is not always allowed.

Not when these are temporary drawings like "counters". Ofcourse I also wrote
the bitmap at repaint-time. To have everyting in the EVT_PAINT routine
requires a lot of book-keeping of the program about what was drawn and what
was erased etc.
Cannot this be automated? In X-windows I normally switch on the
Backingstore option, which keeps an image of the window in memory at the
server side. Can this also be done in wxWidgets?

anyway it was not the problem, see one of my prevous posts

RE: Re[2]: [Mac, 2.8.2]
I agree that this is a good idea. I don't think we would need mac specific code, as I think the interface and implementation can be done on the generic interface of the wx controls. For the time being, all I was thinking of doing is a simple "if" where needed in the wxTextValidator to know whether it's dealing with a combo-box or text edit control (pretty much like the generic validator does). It seems to me very simple to do so, and that is definitely something I can do. As for creating a wxTextEntryIFace, I'm not 100% sure I understand your design concept. ...

RE: [Info-ingres] Re: Ingres/ICE (3.0.2) and Apache 2.0.54
m00n, I have uploaded a DLL for PHP 5.0.5 to http://www.ingres.co.uk/files/php/php-5.0.5-ingres_dll.zip. You should know that the code has been tested with BLOBs of varying sizes up to 100Mb; it should work with larger files I did not have any laying about to test with. The code will fetch data in segments defined by the connect option "blog_segment_length". I believe the maximum segment size is 32k. See http://www.ingres.co.uk/files/php/blob_read.php for an example of setting connect options. Later on it will be possible to set the segment length dynamically not just at connect time. I would strongly advise this DLL not be used in production but feel free to experiment.
