Help needed for my Philips monitor
Hello gurus,
I bought a IIe with several interesting cards (chat mauve, MS soft
card, Apple mouse and disk interfaces, printer interface), a HP
printer, tons of disks, two DIsk II drives and one Philips monitor PCT
1201.
The IIe connected to the SCART input of my TV works well and displays
everything correctly. I then tried the RCA output to the Philips
monitor and I have nothing but a thin central line. See

9pin RGB pinout to 15pin RGB pinout cable?
Hopefully someone knows any easy answer for this?
I'm looking for a cable that has a 9pin RGB end and other other end is a
15pin RGB end which will work with a IIgs computer. I hope what I'm
explaining is not to confusing.
I just recently came into a 15 inch commodore monitor which I would like to
use with the IIgs computer however the pinout on the monitor is 9pin and the
IIgs is 15 pin anyone know of a specific cable which can be purchased?
Also, have a Magnavox monitor but I think I just need a 9pin to 15pin
adapter and the two cables can be hooked up on this monitor.

USCD Pascal on a CFFA drive
Hello, I have recently become more active in Pascal programming. I own
a CFFA card and found a single post on Rich's message board about that
it is possible to install Pascal on his card.
However if I try it ( 32 MB CF and CFFA in Slot5 ) I get two drives
(#11,#12) with a size of -2816 blocks.
I can not format those drives or copy files because I a "No room on
device".
Do I need patch so that the Pascal System can work with the CFFA?
Anybody has done this and can me guide through it?
Thanks, Wulf

The 6502 simulator
Hi All,
I discovered the 6502 simulator from MECC a few weeks ago on a
diskette lot. It displays the way the 6502 behaves, you can even debug
with that graphical program. I found it very interesting and useful.
You can download it from http://www.brutal-deluxe.fr/public/Mecc/
Anyone has a 65c816 version of it?

Happy as a clam
Today I took an antique tube radio down to this radio museum to see
about repairs. During the discussion my interest in Apple IIs came up
and the fellow asked me to go with him into the back. There sat a II+

number of fliers from the period and a ROM card with Integer basic &
the pre-autostart monitor ROM.
Had a problem with the floppy drive. Something on the Disk II card is

Just bought an Apple IIc. Prodos questions.
Hey all. I just bought a used Apple IIc in good working order with an
internal 5.25 drive and an external 3.5 drive. Am I right in thinking
that I need Prodos to use the external disk drive?
I am an old time Apple II+ programmer, but I haven't touched an Apple

on Prodos that was written for Apple DOS 3.3? I want to play with
6502 assembler so I purchased a copy of the Merlin assembler which
comes with DOS 3.3 on the disk, but no utilities. I also ordered a

Diagnosing and fixing a faulty Disk II drive
I have a Disk II drive that is giving me some problems. When my Apple
is first powered up and I run some standard disk alignment tests, I
will get read/write errors in the drive. However, after the drive has
warmed up, the tests will pass 100%.
Drive speed is right at 300 rpm and I've cleaned the read/write head.
My thought is that the stepper motor might be a little sticky until it
warms up and maybe needs some lubrication but this is total
speculation on my part. Does anyone have any suggestions? If it's a
sticky motor, what kind of lubricant is safe?
Thanks,

one of the most annoying feature of iDisk is that you must set the

The iDisk team claim that it is perfectly compatible with the DISK II

On Technical Introduction to the APPLE IIGS, page 85 you can read:
There are three different ways of changing the operating speed.
First, the user can use the Control Panel to set the speed.
Second, if a slot has s DISK II controller card in it, the firmware

Buying equipment?
Hi,
Other than eBay and local thrift/secondhand stores, is there any major
place where people buy and sell Apple equipment? E.G. a website, mailing
list, etc. The reason I ask is, I'm in the market for a ROM 3 GS, all I
really need is the main unit. However, in my experience, a lot of the units
on eBay are totally untested, and are of the "Pulled from a working
environment, we know nothing about it, don't have any software, so can't
test, powers up and lights up" variety. Is there a place where Apples are
sold, where they're being sold by people who really do know about v

Serial Link between Mac and IIgs
I have been trying to set up a stable/fast serial link between my IIgs
(ROM03) and my MacPro with a Keyspan USB to serial adapter. This
connection works fine with ADTPro and it is quite quick at 115200
kbps. When I try a serial link with ProTerm on the GS and zterm on my
Mac I can not get a reliable connection above 9600 kbps. I ideally
want to transfer files between the machines at a half decent speed in
SHK format so I am not stuck with having to convert SHK to DSK or 2mg
files before sending them via ADTPro.
Am I using the right software? The hardware seems OK as it works with

Which would you keep: ZipGSX or TWGS?
I managed to pick up a ZipGSX from eBay last week, a stock 8MHz/16K
that ran Modulae for hours without any issues. I also recently
managed to upgrade a TWGS to a very stable 10MHz/32K.
The ZipGS doesn't have a socket for the oscillator, so I'm stuck at
8MHz for now, but I suppose I can take the cache up to 64K with
ReactiveMicro's help.
I couldn't find the Benchmark v5.0 program, does anyone have a copy?
It's not up on Asimov when I looked.
So assuming I don't need to have both, which one should I keep? Which
one would you keep?
Also managed to pick up a MockingBoard, which

Scanning cards (for Alex)
I finally got around to scanning the AI GS Juice+ and Hyperstudio MIC
thing today, and the OfficeJet 5610 AIO doesn't do any depth
scanning. The markings on the chips are in focus, but the rest of the
silkscreen markings are blurry :(
I read the /you-can-help section on your site and tried a few
settings, but no luck. I can take a picture if you like, I have a
Canon Point and Shoot (~10 megapixel) that may be sufficient.
