It's missing from my box. That one that I have is the orange-keyed
C64. Are there really boxes with no WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF FRIENDLY
COMPUTING?

Orange keys mean it was originally intended as a VIC-20 keyboard -
though Commodore used them with 64s too.

Not sure on that book;

The VIC-20 guide I have is titled:

Personal Computing on the VIC-20 a friendly Computer Guide

and the C64 guide is titled:

Commodore 64 Users Guide

Ah, no, it's not a book, it's the words which are seen in the front
when the box is opened.

The first 64 I got was in December 1982. It was in a plain,
white box with a blue Commodore logo on the top.
No words or pictures at all. I bought it from NEECO (New
England Electronics Co.) I got the Programmer's Reference
on Jan 4, 1983 and stayed up most of the night reading it and
trying the samples. My wife warned me to come to bed
because she was sure she was going to deliver our first child
the next day. I got to bed at 3 AM. At about 4 AM, my wife
woke me up. It was time to go to the hospital. Funny, though,
with only an hour of sleep I still didn't feel tired all day
on the 5th.
