Instead of taking the defense, I'm taking the offense here.
I'd like to lecture grandly about the things I love and the truth and
the ones I hate - but life is too short and you'll quit reading anyway.
So if I get ONE more smart ass comment from one of you 'I hate Jesus'
'God is Dead' and 'Kill yourself' fagots - it's just going to be an all
out flame war.
There's not a month that goes by without some ignorant jackass spouting
off some liberal baby killing ignorant comment and when I see it I'M
GOING TO SPEAK MY FUCKING MIND!
Yes, that's right. There are kids who read this fucking board and don't
need to be bombarded with your leftist bigoted fagot crap.
This is life. This is Commodore and this is my fucking response to the
assholes on this board.
One *fucking* warning.

Hey Christian,

:-) I don't hate Jesus because I didn't know him and, according to the fairy
tales, he was a pretty nice guy. God is not dead because that would implicitly
suggest that he or she or it ever existed which he or she or it actually never
did. As for the kill yourself part, yeah, stop walking near trees so that your
god, if existing at all, can strike you with his or her or its lighting, let
there be one less babbling idiot on this planet!
> This is life.
And this is a Commodore newsgroup, for Commodore-related discussion, nothing
more! I'm sure there are other newsgroups where other babbling idiots will be
immensely happy and enlightened to hear your opinion about Life, the Universe
and Everything. So why don't you go over there and leave us alone?
> One *fucking* warning.
What does your god, if existing at all, say about swearing around this often?
Joe
P.S.: If you want a flame war, at least, have some style!

So just quit. Nobody cares at all anyway.

It's funny I have to side with Joe Fester, but he has the perfect right to
say whatever he likes about religion when and how he feels to, and you have
to accept it. Faith, beliefs and tastes are not to argue about.
Fester might have a lot of defects, but he doesn't like off-topics
discussions and very rarely gets into them, he's too anal for breaking the
rules. So you don't speak about it and probably he never will either.

You should speak your fucking mind, but be careful not to show your mind is
fucked, dude.
Chill out immediately, either a few other people who had nothing against you
might feel wronged by this delirious and ridicoulus war declaration and turn
their backs on you for good. You used to be enjoyable, Lott. What's wrong
with you?
> Yes, that's right. There are kids who read this fucking board and

I doubt there are kids who read this fucking boa...newsgroup, we're just a
bunch of pathetic old farts with a bad fetish in decrepit computer hardware.
We're old gentlemen, we use to hang out with a walking cane or an umbrella
at our side, you know?
However if there are some kids here - I doubt - I don't think it'll make
any good to them reading your homophobic rants. Not that I particularly like
dykes and fags either, but, hey, whomever someone prefers to gets laid with
is nothing we have the right to laugh about or comment or use as an offense.
It's like offending someone because he/she likes to eat Broccoli and Beans
for breakfast.
> This is life. This is Commodore and this is my fucking response to the

I thought Commodore were computers. Your response has nothing to do with
Commodore, but rather with some psychotropic substances you were not
supposed to take without a doctor's prescription.
Chill out, relax, speak about Commodore, give your contribute about
Commodore and accept you're not supposed to fix anything you think is wrong.
Move on.

Hey Hornet,
lucky you... Some of my Commodore's are so haggard and worn out you'd say
it's a luck they don't disintegrate at air contact.
I once got me for a couple of euros a C64, whose owner prolly had confused
it with an ashtray, at some point. When it heats up it produces a smell like
someone is smoking around you, but with that unique
"pair-of-tennis-shoes-cooking-in-the-oven" flavour, you know...

Go ahead and then watch your internet connection be terminated when someone
contacts your ISP for abuse. Then someone takes you to court for mass public
slandering when it does go into that AND you insult someone.
Be careful guys of racial slanders too.
> There's not a month that goes by without some ignorant jackass spouting

If you don't like it, you have the choice to leave the newsgroups. You may
speak your mind but if you ruin it enough, a quota maybe achieved to have
this newsgroup dissolved. Anyway, I'll explain some facts about
comp.sys.cbm, it was established 10-20 or so years ago as a public newsgroup
(originally under a different name but was set to comp.sys.cbm after a major
transition to this format many years ago) to discuss things Commodore 8 bit
related. This is because several newsgroups were formed for different
topics.
I'll explain, the newsgroup naming comvention, comp.*.* (the comp means
computers).
*.sys.* (the sys means 'system') and *.*.cbm means 'cbm' as in Commodore
Business Machines. This newsgroup in particular was formed to discuss topics
relating to the CBM computer systems (CBM = Commodore Business Machines).
There are USENET newsgroups for discussing things relating to things like
the abortion controversy. The point of having multiple newsgroups is that
people who are interested in certain topics can subscribe to the newsgroup
designated for those topics. A person who is respectful of others will take
their topics to those newsgroups and NOT take the topics to newsgroups that
are not about discussing those topics. The idea is that this newsgroup was
established for those who are interested in Commodore computers and
discussing topics related to Commodore computers can talk here. If you are
not interested in reserving your posts to Commodore related topics, it is
the right thing to shut up, don't post OR leave this newsgroup and subscribe
to the newsgroups for the topics that you are interested in. This newsgroup
can become moderated. So, I really think it is best for you to consider why
you are here on a newsgroup that has nothing to do with the topics that you
are interested in posting to. I personally think that there are better
things that you can spend your time than writing a bunch of posts that no
one here cares.
We can have a voting poll. I am sure people will not resort to
double-voting. Vote once.
> Yes, that's right. There are kids who read this fucking board and don't
> need to be bombarded with your leftist bigoted fagot crap.
We don't need to be talking about this. How about reserving your topics to
that of Commodore related topics such as QLink Revival project, 6502
assembly/ML, uIEC project, BASIC, and things related to what is going on in
the Commodore community.
For kids sake, lets start by growing up and self-moderate ourself and
reserve posts
to those relating to Commodore. It would be a great thing if we can be able
to talk about things like how to do Commodore graphics or BASIC and those
things alike.
> This is life. This is Commodore and this is my fucking response to the
> assholes on this board.
Yes, it is about Commodore. So, try to reserve your posts to Commodore
topics. A polite request. These non-related topics are a waste of time.

I have seen, and i still do... A lot of atheists who are a lot more tolerant

I don't hate jesus, i didn't say god is dead, though i don't believe in him!
Weather you should kill yourself or not, is up to you! So you hate
homosexuals? - I don't, and i definately am heterosexual...
If anyone is starting a flamewar, it is you sir!
If you don't want comments on your belief or what you think is right

THE STANDARD ADVICE:
There is a way to influence what gets discussed in a newsgroup that
works well, and another way that has never worked no matter how many
people have tried it.
What works: Post articles on the topic you wish to see discussed,
and participate in the resulting discussion. Use killfiles and
filters so that you don't see the articles that you dislike.
If you don't know how to use a killfile, use good old fashioned
discipline and don't read the articles that you dislike. Never,
ever respond to articles that you dislike.
What doesn't work: Respond to articles that you dislike, complain
about articles that you dislike, complain about posters that you
dislike, complain about how terrible everyone else is for not posting
what you want them to post. Talk about how to respond to articles
that you dislike. Make the articles that you dislike the center of
attention, the main topic of discussion, and a personal crusade.

I'll simply put it short. NO ONE like people who tries to dictate how one is
to respond, believe and so forth.
In other words Christian Lott, if you don't want people to dictate to you.
Don't dictate to us. Keep you personal views private if you don't want
people to disagree with you.
In the United States, we have a 'Right' in our Bill of Rights (we call the
Constitutionary rights) to the freedom of speech and the right to speak our
personal values in a non-violent way, and therefore - you may not legally
persecuted for speaking an opinion. This does not constitute violent acts
such a murder.
Now, USENET was established with multiple newsgroups based on subject
themes. This way, people can subscribe to the newsgroups that they are
interested. People who have subscribed to this newsgroup - subscribed to
discuss Commodore related topics which was what this newgroup was chartered
as the subject matter when it was created many years ago. The people
complaining about the off-topic messages here, subscribed to this newsgroup
to discuss Commodore topics. It is like subscribing to a magazine about cars
but find out that the articles are about dog shit. Now, you certainly would
be upset.
This newsgroup is created for Commodore related discussions. Thank you very
much. Lets get back to that. If you subscribed to this newsgroup to discuss
abortion or things like that, dear Christian Lott, you have subscribed to
the wrong newsgroup. I would suggest that you subscribe to
alt.flame.abortion
Take it there dude. They'll love you.

Ok, maybe it was unclear. But originally comp.sys.cbm had a different name.
But then there was some restructuring with the newsgroups to this naming
convention format.
comp.sys.cbm was created to discuss topics that is Commodore related.
Plain and simple. You want the charter to this newsgroup ?
In fact, C-One topics is a discrepency to the rule. It is more explicit to
Commodore 8 Bit computers.
There is a general purpose for multiple newsgroups. A) So people interested
in a given subject/topic/theme like Commodore 8 bit computers and related
topics can subscribe to this newsgroup and talk about the Commodore and
software related to it. Ok, a little chatting that is off topic is generally
okay to an extent.
Now, go read the charter of comp.sys.cbm. I think you can find it.

RiKfaKts, when valid, tend to be facts like "water is wet" and "wind is

I haven't really involved myself in any of these discussions so far.
However, I just have one thing to say.
Notice that no other Christian in this group has ever rallied in support of
you? Yes, there are plenty (including me), and we cringe at your spoutings,
not wanting to be associated with you personally, and let the few who still
bother make mincemeat of you and your insane ramblings. Yes, you quote a
lot of facts, but that doesn't make you any less nuts. Yes, some of the
people you argue with are as nuts as you are, but that doesn't make you any
less nuts. Quit embarrassing those who actually treat people like Jesus
treated them; you're doing no good for anybody and are definitely not
bringing any honor to the one you supposedly worship. Notice that many
people don't have any problem with the teachings of Jesus, they just can't
stand his supposed followers? You're reinforcing that view entirely too
much.

Last I checked you were supposed to be spreading The Word.
I may have some faults but at least I'm not like the ones who walk by a

If you have a problem with the way I handle things please know that I
have a MAJOR problem with people who claim they're Christian yet never
speak up when Satanists post God hating rhetoric - which is EXACTLY what
'The Human Extinction Movement' IS.
You'd think in a global community you could find a few people to trust
but it's more than obvious the only time anyone speaks up for what they
claim to believe is when SOMEONE IS SCREAMING IN THEIR FACE REMINDING THEM!
How else is it that 80% of the population SAYS they believe in God and
50 million babies have been aborted in 30 years. Because no one speaks
up and the ones who do are shouted down by those who 'claim' to believe.
If you think Christ was some peace nick hippy prancing around in a tutu

suggest you either catch up on your Bible study or join the seculars -
because those of us who believe DON'T NEED YOU.

Spreading the "word" is what has caused so many of todays troubles in the
world. Keep your beliefs to yourself and stop pushing them onto others.

You can't hate something that doesn't exist.

There is no god. Dead is dead. We kill billions of animals every year with
the same result. Our fate is the grave, quit whining about what happens when
you die and start doing something to improve the situation of those around
you and yourself. You can start by stopping this senseless tirade against
atheists, christians and anyone else that doesn't share your warped view of
the world.

Those of you who believe need a reality check and re-education, but hey it's
your choice but don't try to force your nonsense onto others who don't
support your views...

Do you think that I am for human extinction and for the purpose of
extermination of all human beings. No, I'm not for it because there are
other options. I only say that if it happens, so be it. Because if it
happens, what are any of us going to do about it ?
Ok, your point is understood. I save the world a couple hundred watts by
using my laptop instead of a Desktop. ok. Power saved. Oh well.
Now, lets kind of get seriously thinking about this. Do you expect us to not
have any lives of our own ? I can seriously ask God that to his face. I can
agree that we can serve God's word (if you believe in it). Lets take a look
at the Bible, it is a guide how to live among many other things. Treat
others as you wish to be treated.
Isn't that among the Ten Commandments. Does it say that we are to have no
lives of our own. You can exstrapulate certain sayings but you can also
consider that God knows that we will all fail to meet such extremes. Then
comes Jesus, basically saying that He does not expect us to be perfect and
therefore to enter God's kingdom (heaven), you must repent your sins and ask
for forgiveness and so forth. Ok, understood. It doesn't mean that we try to
spend our lives purposely trying to commit sins and then say 'oh please
forgive my sins' just so you don't go to hell. There has to be some
sincerity and honesty. Ok, understood.
God (if exists), would also understand that we have lifes of our own and
doesn't expect us to totally forget about having our own lives. God would
not expect us to go to every ally corner looking for criminals. There is
something called the police.
Ok, it is understandable that the police can't be everywhere but there is
times when we must do what in our hearts is right and be called to serve.
Not necassarily to any government organization or agency but to called to do
what is right. I understand your point. I'm not going to go out to seek
trouble but if I must, I'll do what is right. So yippie ki yay to those
mother f*ckers.

Hay! We can't live our lives thinking about that 24 hours/ 7 days a week,
365 days a year for our whole lives. It is too much to handle, man. Don't
need to remind us. I need to be thinking of all those negative thoughts all
the time. I like to think about positive things. It is what keeps me going
and not decide to commit suicide. If life was ONLY about the negative, then
what the fuck is the point of living. You don't need to make that crusade
here. We come to newsgroups like comp.sys.cbm and forums and whatever else -
to relax. So PLEASE quit ruining that. For sanity sake.
> How else is it that 80% of the population SAYS they believe in God and 50

Dude, you are not F*CKING alone. There are. We just DON'T want to spend our
valuable free time to relax and enjoy our FUCKING lives and conversations
with others that we consider as friends to think about abortion. If you
continue things like this in newsgroups and forums like this, you won't be
getting any friends.

Dude, I already know that. What the FUCK do you want us to do ? Give up our
lives and fight this so called crusade and NOT have our own lives ? Some
people here have families to take care of so going on this crusade can cause
us to loose our jobs because we be prancing around all these cities and not
at work doing the jobs that we are paid to do. We have LIVES of our own.
What else do you want us to do, GIVE up what few hours of free time to relax
and enjoy ourselves to fighting this so called 'crusade' ?
We have our own lives and family. There are some whoms lives are to save
lives or to fight criminals or whos lives is to serve this country to
protect and defend. These people shall be honored BUT don't forget the ones
who work to provide the food we do have or even to haul the food from place
to place.
Many here, do that. In some way, contributing to the lives of other people.
We can't do that 24 hours a day, individually.

Have ya read the bible lately. Revelations tells us all about the end of
the world and the Extinction of the Human race. God is Good.

I generally ignore off-topic threads here, but from what I've seen it's all
just bull-headed flaming.
Do you think your "correcting" does anything? Can you correct people who
don't hold the same basic premises as you do by solely justifying it by your
own beliefs? Do you think people see your ramblings and say "Wow, I want to
be a Christian like him! He obviously holds life-altering truths!"
Obviously not, as *in practice* we've seen that everybody thinks you're
insane and many purposefully start retorting with anti-Christian sentiment
just to annoy you (as they've obviously been annoyed before by loudmouthed,
ineffective, disconnected, hate-driven "Christians" who have no interest in
people who don't believe what they do). Being an idiot isn't going to turn
anybody to Christianity, nor is it going to cure any evil in society. You
are presenting nothing that makes anybody want to believe in what you do
(probably makes them stay far away instead), and have no clue about people
that don't believe what you do.
People believe different things, and you purposefully throw more of the same
things at them that caused them to start hating Christianity in the first
place; what's that supposed to accomplish? Look at the fruits of your works
here and try to come up with any actual good you've done. Like I said,
sharing some facts about abortion or whatever == good though usually
off-topic. Doing so while being a rambling idiot who can't respect a topic
of discussion == bad.

I keep buying new 8-bitters every now and then. I have a
basement/attic full of C64s & 128s, Apple II systems, Atari XLs and
even a few Ti-99/4as lying around. (I like Amigas, too - I have three
of them.) Can't help myself. I keep remembering how much these
machines cost back in the day, and when I see one going for a few
bucks on eBay I just can't pass it up. I remember in January of 1984
buying a new Apple IIe system with mono monitor, a Duodisk drive
system, an Imagewriter printer and a few software titles for arond
$1500. I bought the exact same system for $50 a few months back.
Crazy.
That comment you made about a "bad fetish" was pretty accurate...

Well, actually I'm not laughing, I'm getting pretty annoyed.
I've been away for 3 days, I fire up my thunderbird and there are 3
flame threads polluting my reader (so far, I'm not yet done reading the
threads). It's getting a bit out of control and the flames are
overshadowing the interesting C= posts.

I am very sorry to hear you're having difficulty Jurgen.
May I suggest clicking the 'thread' button on the top left of your
screen, it looks like a lasso. This will enable you to view the recent
topics by thread. Therefore, just ignore these two or three threads.
Don't open them up. If you don't click the + sign, the tree will not
open and you can get back to your reading pleasure.
OTOH, you can listen to a condensed version of this flame war summed up
by Rick Balkins in one completely offensive curse against God and a one
sentence, completely meaningless and baffling comment about programming
- all in a minute thirty nine second audio clip (with effects of course).
http://members.cox.net/diakytx/MandatoryTheology.ogg
When you're done viewing by thread you can go back to date view by
clicking on the 'date' tab.
Have a good one!
