Hi,
I'm a long-time lurker. Over the past few years I've acquired a bunch
of Commodore computer equipment that it's now time to dispose of, since
I am moving from a rural house near Whitewater, Wisconsin to a 1
bedroom apartment in West Milwaukee. I simply don't have the space for
the stuff I've accumulated over the years, nor do I actually use any of
the Commodore computers anymore. Most of my computing activity these
days is using the Internet, and my 7 year old PC and 8 month old Mac
Mini take care of these quite well, so I don't need the Commodore stuff
anymore.
I'd like to sell off everything to people who are really interested in
using the stuff, and would really rather not use eBay if at all
possible. Also, I'd rather not ship this stuff - there's quite a bit of
it and I simply don't want to take the time to deal with shipping (nor
do I really have the time to take).
Here's a partial list of what I have - you can email me for more
details, or post here too.
C128-DCR (2 of them, one actually works, the other has been in storage
for the past 7 years, current operating status unknown)
C128 (standard), in storage.
SX-64 (2 of them, both worked in the past year)
C64 (older "breadbox" unit), in storage.
1541 disk drives (2), in storage.
1571 disk drives (at least 1, maybe others in storage)
1581 disk drives (at least 1, maybe others in storage)
1526 printer
Xetec SuperGraphix printer interface unit
1660 300 baud modem
1670 1200 baud modem
Lots of software, mostly programming and productivity apps - not many
games (I've never been much of a computer gamer)
2 color monitors (not Commodore, but work with the 128D in both 40 and
80 column mode)
RAM expansion units (1 GeoRAM, one 1764, I think one 1750 expanded)
C64 CP/M Cartridge (works only on the SX-64's that I have, doesn't work
on any of the standard 64s that I have)
Magazines too - mostly Transactor from vol 5 through the end.
Probably more stuff - I haven't inventoried it all yet (and I'd rather
not if I can help it).
Current location of all stuff is 4 miles west of Whitewater, Wisconsin.
You can email me at: jrynders@idcnet.com.
Thanks to all who may be interested!

Funny... if you're not wanting to ship, how do you plan on getting rid
of it?
It's doubtful that you have neighbors reading this that want the
stuff...

Ok, long time lurker and ocassional poster. It's been a long time since i've
been here. As a member of a defunct club in Madison, (MACUG) and have sold
computers and parts world wide.... I HAVE SOLD SO FEW ITEMS IN WI., that I
am forced to use EBAY as a means of distribution. Last year I didn't sell
anything, partly because I have been lazy, partly I have been doing major
OT at work, but this year I plan on off loading 75-90% of my equipment.
Including my Ramlink, EPROM burner and maybe even my C= specific diagnostic
hardware.
My point is, Yes shipping is a hassle, but it is as nescessary to find
buyers locally and abroad at fair prices. See my auctions this summer on
EBAY now. User name is Bulletsnbrains.

That's strange. According to my last e-mail/snail mail of a
couple months ago, I was told that each month MACUG was slowly showing my
videotapes of last year's LUCKI Spring Expo. The treasurer even sent me
money to reimburse me for the tapes and postage.

Ok, I better explain my statement a little more. The club still meets at the
Pizza Hut on University Ave every 3rd Thursday. 7PM
But my last count the "active?!?" still showing up to the monthly's are
about 4 persons, John O didn't make the last one because of Cancer, and
Marty J the President, John H and one other member whose name (I think also
John) I can't remember gather to have a meal and chat. These guys are all
65+ in age and have been much more of a social gathering than anything
else. I am the clubs "Librarian" and have the clubs computer and inventory
of software. And I haven't been to a meeting in almost 2 years.

Last check of my MACUG monthly newsletter shows John Hicks as treasurer.
John has been in this post since before I joined back in the late 80's.
Are we talking about Madsion Area Commodore Users Group?

It is still cool that they meet though. I think the Commodore group
in Stevens Point disbanded probably like 20+ years ago. That group
ended up getting back together during the Internet boon and started a
regular computer club "Computer Operators of Wisconsin" or COW :)
Which I was a part of getting that going. I since then moved six
years ago down to Cassville where classic gaming / computers is a SNES
and Mac Classic. But we do have Scott Adams from Adventure
International days living in Platteville now. He will be speaking at
Midwest Gaming Classic this year on June 3rd. It is being held at the
Olympia Resort in Oconomowoc, WI. More info at

A club is only as good as what the members put into it. We only
have a few local members, but we are a feisty bunch.

I wish I'd known. I work for UW and spent all of last summer in
Madison (June 1 - Oct 1). I would have been happy to show up.
I didn't have much C= with me (most of it is at home in OH), but do
have VICE on my laptop and images of all of my PET and C-64 disks
(including stuff I wrote commercially in the early-to-mid-1980s)
If I end up in Madison next summer (2007), I'll have to look you guys
up.

If you are in Ohio now, you might want to check out our club in Cincinnati.
In a couple weeks, we are even throwing an expo!

Well, I have a very early RAMLink that kind of works, i.e., it's
trouble is that it cannot be partitioned out under Wheels.
However, if you need any other goodie from the mainland, let me
know, and I can bring it over when I get to Oahu.

If I were in Ohio, I'd *love* to come to the expo - I'd have even
signed up as a vendor (I am the manufacturer of the GG2 Bus+ card for
the Amiga). I am, however, at the South Pole for the winter and will
be missing all the fun.

Just a followup on the Commodore stuff for sale in Wisconsin. I
picked it up this last weekend. Still have to test most, but
everything looks in good to excellent condition.
Notables:
3 Commodore 128D's (one tested and working)
3 Commodore 1581's (all tested and working)
3 1764 RAM Expansions (one new in box upgraded by Software Hut to
512k), others currently untested.
1 GeoRAM 512
4 Commodore 64C's
3 Commodore 1571's
2 Commodore 1541's (All in box)
1 Commodore 1541-II
3 Commodore 1351's (2 in box)
3 Commodore Modems (2 300 baud, 1 1200 Baud)
1 Commodore 64 (In box)
2 Commodore 128's (One in box)
2 Commodore SX-64's
Ton's of Software mostly productivity including I believe the entire
GEOS software library including the BASIC programming language.
A bunch of programming utilities from Cobol to BASIC compilers.
Vortex Utilities by EPYX
Cartridges like S'MORE, Fast Load, and many more (no games except
Frogger in box).
Magazines (Transactor Issue 4 through the end), Misc issues of
Compute's Gazette and some newsletters from couple user groups.
Much more can't think of. Will have fun testing though.

It's harder to find lots like this or even smaller now a days. Since
I didn't have a 128D or 1581 before, was cool to get those. Will have
fun playing though :)
