Has Anyone Cracked DSI Protection yet???
Has anyone ever cracked the 128 versions of pocket writer 2
pocket planner 2 (128 versions)???
I know the C64 versions are no problem. Just snapshot em and your
done, but the 128 versions had no snapshot utility created.
I know the 128 versions can have the protection removed by
"elite V3" enough to permit "fast copying" from disk to disk
with any "fastcopy" tool, even 128 stuff, but enough protection
remains to prevent these copies from being done into a
1541 or 1571 partition on any cmd device such as ramlink,
or the various HD's made for CMD. The type protection still
remaining is non-standard tracks and sectoring!!
Even the "MCOPY" tool (mirror copy) wont do the job. I mean
it will mirror copy to a ramlink 128 defined partition or sub
partition, but once put on the CMD device it will not run there.

Sounds like a challenge??
I understand that Pocket Writer 64 (wasn't it Paperback Writer before the name
change?) was cracked by very few people. It's got loads of tricks and traps in
it....

If it's going to be that much trouble, why not just write a clone
without the protection?

Thats the problem right there. Just try writeing that clone!!!1
If you can do that well let me know I will buy it from you
once you try. However I think that will be more than you can
chew.

BTW I bought all the software for 128 mode so this is not
conjuring up piracy or anything like that. The original guys
that created the protection have drifted off into history am
told by the Canadians.

You may check:
http://blacha.srebrnysen.com/~silverdr/competition.prg
for an old file on the subject...
It's a C-64 executable so you might get in on screen insted of disk...
Use your usual trick to get the file downloaded instead of displayed ;-)
