Looking to adopt a C128....

C= stuff on ebay has gotten beyond rediculous. It seems there is one
seller who collects about 10 SX64's, and then put's them all on
auction, one after another with very high buy it now prices...
basically inflating the prices by flooding the market with high
prices. It's sad to see people taking advantage of the community but
I guess that's just how business works these days.

So... does anyone have a C128 in need of a home? I've been getting
into assembly programming (specifically, demos)and just want something
to test my code on after running them in Vice. I also have a dos
wedge I wrote a long time ago for driving motors via interrupts for a
robot I was building. You could issue basic commands like "MOVE F,
100" or "TURN L,10", etc... meanwhile your program would continue to
run so that you could monitor sensors.

Anyway... I was toying with the idea of playing with this stuff but am
getting tired of watching auction after auction get out of control.

On a side note, I have actually been considering creating a very basic
operating system (linux kernel, dos variant, or something) which boots
directly into a (heavily customized) emulator. The os would be
running several emulators simultaneously, allowing you to flip between
full screens (actually multiple emulators) with a key combination
(sort of like the amiga custom screens AMIGA-M/N).

The actual OS would be hidden from the user... so it would really
look/feel like a multiconsole C64,VIC, PET or a combination of all.

Thoughts?

Forgot, I only mentioned the 128 because it looks modern enough that
my wife won't catch on to it being a hobby computer :)

A 64C might pass as modern enough too... but the lack of numeric
keypad is sort of a give away. lol.
