is there a way to program GEOS other than using assembly?

Any help appreciated!

A fig-Forth for GEOS ( GeoForth ) can be found here:

I played with geoForth back in the day.  It seemed to be pretty useless. 
  You would have to write all your own GUI commands to get it to do 
anything useful.  I don't know that anyone ever wrote any libraries for it.

I've never used GeoForth, but that's what I'd understood as well.  It
was basically a facility for interactively tinkering with the Geos
kernal, but no heavy extensions were provided.
