CBMIMAGER UPDATED
CBMImager for Windows by Uncle Tom and Doc Bacardi of The Dreams has
been updated recently. This is a tool to edit disk images. D64 and DFI
images are fully supported while there is read-only access to HD
images.
For those who do not know: DFI is a custom disk archive format used by
the DreamLoad plugin for MMC64. While a D64 is limited to 171 KB, a
DFI image can be of unlimited size in theory. Furthermore the DFI
format supports subdirectories.
CBMImager V0.2.1 changelog:
- Fixed a crash bug occurring when extracting files via the context-
menu. (a wrong method was called)
- Added a new option "All Images" to the "Open Image" - Dialog so the
user doesn't have to switch between DFI and D64 Image-Formats.
- Window-size is now preserved in a local config-file.

ARTILLERY DUEL NETWORK - FIRST INTERNET&LAN GAME FOR RR-NET/ETH64
24 years after the first Artillery Duel, the game has been ported by
Schema to work over the Internet or LAN with RR-Net or ETH64!
Features:
- Two players over the Internet or LAN (turn-based)
- Chat (F7)
- Mediocre graphics
- Sound effects
- Joystick control (Port 2)
The game is still in development. Find all information about this new
game here: http://home.ica.net/~leifb/commodore/duel/index.html
The latest version (v0.004) has been released with yet more
improvements, such as the chat facility which had upper and lowercase
lettering the wrong way around.
It has also been playtested between two real C64s (a C64c and an
SX64), which both had an RR-Net adapter plugged into them.
Also, the source code for this new version is available. As far as
Leif is concerned, this is public domain. Six's library is included,
and is free to use and distribute.

RR-FORUM TRANSFORMS TO RETROHACKERS.ORG
One year after the launch of RR-Forum, site admin RaveGuru decided to
transform it to retrohackers.org. In the future, this new site is
going to have a structured news page, file section etc. Check the full
story here: http://www.retrohackers.org
And remember that links to the old RR-Forum won't work anymore, but
you can make them work by replacing "http://rrforum.ath.cx" with
"http://retrohackers.org/forum".
STAR COMMANDER: NEW BETA AVAILABLE, WITH OPENCBM/CBM4WIN SUPPORT
A new beta of Star Commander is out. For the change-log see below.
Probably the most interesting improvement is that SC can now access
cbm4win under Windows NT4/2000/XP/2003. So there is no more need for
the GiveIO program or similar. Simply select
"OpenCBM" as cable type at the transfer options dialog. OpenCBM needs
to be installed for this of course.
Since this is a beta release, there still might be bugs. Please send
bug reports to the Star Commander Mailing List at
sclist@yahoogroups.com
As usual, the new beta is available at http://sta.c64.org/scbeta.html
Changes in SC 0.83.21 beta since SC 0.82:
Fix: During file rename, already existing target files are now
detected correctly under operating systems other than real DOS, as
well.
Fix: The number of sides is not detected for disks in 1570 drives
anymore.
Fix: The progress indicator counted blocks incorrectly while copying a
file from a Commodore drive in normal transfer mode.
New: Introducing support for accessing Commodore drives via the
OpenCBM driver (cbm4win 0.4.0 or above) under Windows NT4/2000/XP/2003
- use the "OpenCBM" value for the "Serial cable" option in the
"Transfer options" configuration screen.
MMC64 UPDATES
There's another new version of DFI Plugin for MMC64 by Doc Bacardi/The
Dreams. The dreamload mode, which was ruined in the last release, now
works again. There were a couple of other fixes, for instance,
concerning scratching (deleting) and
saving files. Get the latest version here:
