What about GEOS MegaPatch3 128, it runs in Color AND 640x200 on an
64kB VRAM equipped C128. (in opposite to wheels128)

The 1581 Toolkit is not a 128 program but a 64 program.

Then we should also include Gunship (military helicopter simulation)
which puts the processor in 2MHz mode when the raster beam is
offscreen. Don't know if Novaterm is considered a commercial program
(I think it was sold as shareware), but if you run it in 64 mode on a
128 you get access to the 128's 80-column screen and you can use part
of the VDC memory as a RAM disk (IIRC).

If we include shareware, we can probably add at least a thousand titles to
the list of C128 software. :-)

Then you can add Wizardry 1,2,3 and 5. They use VDC and Bank 1 RAM to stash
overlays that are otherwise loaded from disk in the C64 versions (unless
either has a REU, which can usually stash the whole game by themselves).
They can also use burst mode if 1571 drives are present.

Hmmmmm...I don't think that I can put these in the list...all they are
doing is looking for extra RAM and I suppose would do the same thing on
a C64 if there was a ram expander present. In the Case of Ultima VI
(NOT Ultima V..My error) the game is supposed to play music ONLY on a
c128 NOT on a 64 no matter what is attached to it..this is my
understanding..please correct me if wrong. Soooooo..Ultima IV is
enhanced by running on a c128 while the Wizardy games seem to only look
for and use extra ram if present, a feat possible with a regular C64.

Well, not really. Look again at what the original poster said. They
use the VDC memory and Bank 1 RAM, both of which is only available on
a C128, expanded or not. In addition, they can use an REU, which of
course can be connected to either a C128 or a C64. That's two (three
if you count the VDC and Bank1 RAM separately) very different types of
memory, one (or two; see above) of which is available on every stock
C128 but that you can't have on a C64.

TSDS (total software development system)
came in 64 and 128 versions. Both were included when you bought the
product.
128 version used the REU and more memory for bigger symbol tables.

Hello!
I have created a addendum to the list and moved Ultima VI there and
added wizardry and others...
"Programs enhanced when run in c-64 mode on a c-128"
How does that sound?
Thanks for the input!!

Basic compiler, to make your Basic software more like machine code
and run it faster than the interpreter would. Compare with Pascal[1]
