Wanted: Scan or Copy of Compute!'s Gazette Oct 1985 Issue / X Basic

  • Follow

In this particular issue, they go over a program called "X Basic" which I
used to tinker with when I was about 11, but I went and accidentally screwed
up the program on the disk and lost it. I later found the disk image of the
issue in question, thanks to someone from this newsgroup. However - now I
can't seem to locate the old magazine that shows the available X-Basic
commands! I remember being really impressed with it as a kid, so perhaps if
someone can locate a copy of this and send me a scan along of the X-basic
article, or I can buy a copy if someone has this particular issue! Thanks a
bunch,

Robbie

There are scans of almost every single article related to type-in
programs for every issue of Compute!'s Gazette usually availible at:

http://bbs.oasiscomm.net (Gazette link)

but I just tried to connect there and was unable to access it,
so I have taken the scans for the article for XBasic and uploaded
it to a temporary location, and they can be downloaded from these links,

They won't be up long, maybe a day or two, so if you want them
get them now.

Alan,

I was reading over the scans of the article, and this looks
interesting... Would you mind too much sending over a copy
of "X Basic" as well? I'm jeff at jer333 dot com

Thank you.

The server had issues... needed a new cable modem which took a week to
get from tech support. So.....

the oasiscomm.net ftp is back up and running normal.

ha! you brought back memories! i remember that article....I always wanted a
more powerful basic, but by that time I had Simon's cartridge with 114 commands
and even so basic was gettin' a little dull. I was saving up for a commodore
128 with more OS's
